Monogram Bistro — Restaurant in Jakarta

Decided to try this place after some glowing recommendations from my colleagues. But one visit is more than enough for me.

The place itself is comfortable, clean, and decorated rather nicely. My first impression upon entering the restaurant is really good. Looked at the menu, the price is a bit expensive, around 70-80k for some pasta, before tax. So my expectation is quite high for the taste and for the service.

Decided to order, we called the waiter to take our orders. The waiter who assisted us was male, with no name tag on. We assume he was new because he couldn’t answer a single question we asked him. But, his behavior was really... weird and concerning. He seemed like he can’t stop moving his arms, his body, he couldn’t stand still. It didn’t bother us too much but it did a bit. And then when we ordered the pasta, he didn’t understand anything at all, we had to repeat the same order for more than 5 times until he finally nodded. But then he came back and asked what did we order, we then repeat it again, like another 5 times, he didn’t understand at all, and one of us finally write it down on his note for him to take to the cashier.

He creeped us out but we didn’t get the chance to know his name.

After that, the other waiter informed us that most of the pasta was empty and we had to choose from the available options.

So the point is.. 1/10 for service (1 given to the other waiter who was waaaaay more polite who informed us about the empty pasta but still not helpful at all) 8/10 for cleanliness 7/10 for taste 3/10 for price (way overpriced for the taste and the...

This is a comfortable cafe and bar with a good ambiance and modern music that provides Asian and Western menu with a lot of variant Indonesian dishes. They provide appetizer, main dish, dessert, and pastries. Monogram also provides some private rooms that are not quite big. It suits for about 10 people but still good.

Not a reccomend place to have food. We order some in the menu including hot tea. Some tea served then the waiter came and told us that earl grey finish. No proper stock management in this restaurant. Also pizza we ordered not available. Then what food thia store sell? Last thing also, they told us no debit card accepted for payment, Only cash and QR. Its really not an informative restaurant as most of information (not available menu, payment matters, etc) wont be informed until you order and/or pay.
