In the bustling atmosphere of Pancious Restaurant at Senayan City, one anticipates a dining experience that transcends mere culinary delight, especially given its reputation. However, this recent experience with their cashier left much to be desired, injecting a rather unfortunate and awkward twist into what should have been a refined visit. Despite the allure of Pancious’ famed pancakes and pasta, a subtle but critical lapse in customer service significantly tainted the experience. Specifically, after a brief hiatus of three hours between visits, my request to redeem points from my previous transaction was met not with polite inquiry but rather a dismissive toss of the payment receipt into the trash. This act, although seemingly minor, speaks volumes about an indifferent service approach that sharply contrasts with Pancious' elevated culinary image.

Admittedly, receipts are often regarded as mere scraps of paper, perhaps unimportant. Yet, the act of discarding it without consultation conveys a lack of basic courtesy and awareness of the customer's intent. There is a clear dissonance between what one expects in a restaurant renowned for both its food quality and ambiance, and what is encountered in the service here—one that can feel, at times, lacking in both empathy and attention to detail. It is perplexing to consider that something as straightforward as a polite question—"Would you still need this receipt?"—could have bridged the gap between a dismissive gesture and a respectful interaction. This oversight seems to trivialize the experience and renders the reputation of Pancious inconsistent, to say the least.

Moreover, my loyalty to the brand is evident; just two days prior, I sought out Pancious at Grand Indonesia, only to find that particular outlet temporarily closed for maintenance. Hence, this trip to Senayan City was both intentional and expectant, with the anticipation of a warm welcome to make up for the inconvenience. Yet, this minor but telling moment with the cashier eroded that sense of appreciation. Such an incident, especially when a simple courteous gesture could have entirely altered the perception, underscores the need for staff training that emphasizes customer respect and thoughtfulness, aligning with the premium image Pancious seeks to maintain.

As a customer, I did not intend to impose, nor did I demand the impossible; I merely inquired about redeeming points—a request that was met with surprising disdain. When a restaurant aims to offer an upscale experience, service should be seamless, anticipative, and grounded in fundamental respect. It is curious that a place renowned for culinary excellence and thoughtfully crafted dishes would allow such a lapse in service. Ultimately, any restaurant's allure cannot rely solely on its menu but must include the entire experience, from the greeting at the door to the final receipt.

In light of this, I sincerely hope that the management at Pancious Senayan City, especially the Human Resources or Training Manager, reflects upon this incident. There is no need for extravagant gestures, but a simple, genuine approach in service could profoundly improve guest satisfaction. With some adjustments in staff training and a more consistent dedication to courtesy, Pancious can truly live up to its brand promise, providing not only excellent food but a harmonious dining experience that respects every visitor. After all, the flavor of a dining experience should be matched by the flavor of service—otherwise, even the finest pancake...

I had bad experience dine in here. The staff is lowkey rude & very not friendly. I went there once, with my friend. Only two of us. The 4 seater table is empty and we planned to seat there, but apparently the staff wasn’t allowing us to seat there by saying the 4 seater table was only for a group package of 4 or more ((There was no waiting list, even the restaurant was lowkey empty)). After we accepted that ridiculous reason from the staff, we seated on such small table. Then suddenly, few mins later, there was a couple who just sat down there in the 4 seater and the staff didn’t say anything to them. The staff allowed that couple that was just arrived, to sit down there in the table we once asked for. Also the service of the staff when we were entirely here was very rude & not nice! Food taste also bad, the one menu that my friend ordered was waffle with chicken it was very bad.. the fish & chips i ordered was very MID. so many other reviewers been reviewed this restaurant bad also (not only me, just check the other google reviews). And most of other reviewers also mentioned too of how bad the staff service is in here!...

Taste wise and menu options are incredible. Service? Lots to improve. We're a table of 3, ordered 3 portions of pasta and drinks. Drinks came in within 5 minutes, 2 pasta in 30 minutes, the other one was left hanging. Two of us were waiting for the other pasta so we can eat together. One of the waitres notice and simply came to ask whether we already got all the order and what menu that we haven't get. But since it's almost 1 hour waiting, we don't even remember the name of the pasta.

After asking to the 3rd staff, we finally get the last pasta. Then we ate right after, but the other 2 were already cold since we've waited for a quite long time. Besides, it took us 3 times asking the waiters for the bill.

It's shocking because the service at Pacific Place and Grand Indonensia were marvelous. Pancious Senayan City, you...

If you like western foods, such as salad, steak, pasta, waffles, pancakes, ice cream, this would be the one of the best options to go to. Their pancakes & waffles are also nice enough (especially when added ice cream), I like their berry waffle + vanilla ice cream 😋 In the weekends they always very busy at lunch and dinner time, be ready to queue. Nice and clean place, every set of silverwares is packed in one envelope to keep them clean. If you come with family, they have nice couches too. I recommend this restaurant for family eat out and casual meeting.
