I just wanted to relieve myself and came back with a whole workout! I absolutely hated my experience here, not because of the rooms or food (food was great), but the 1st floor bathroom! Why does the door weigh a ton, it was like shoving an elephant. I went into one stall and the door won't lock (worst, it was halfway ajar) I had to grip onto the side of this thick bathroom door just to free myself, what are you protecting yourself from? That was workout number 1. Next, I was completely locked in! The metal instruments such as the key and hanger by the door was halfway falling apart, I had nothing to grip into! How else would I escape? The door of said bathroom was cracked! I get that this hotel is all about art, but it doesnt mean the cracked walls should reflect my mental state at that moment (broken). Not to mention, I had no signal, couldn't call anyone and had to result to screaming my lungs out. Someone came in the vicinity, BUT DID NOTHING! Let me highlight it, NOTHING! I had to pry open the door with this metal hook that was halfway to its deathbed (thankfully I found a small gap and was able to place my hand out to push from the outside; imagine if I did not discover that, I would be suing the place for breaking my vocal strings)
DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS WORSE? When I came out of this stall walking like a bloody frog cause I had to kneel down, she was simply staring at me like I was a crazed person, excuse me, how would you feel being stuck in a cramped black room with only a toilet and an automated trash can that wont stop opening and closing with you for company? She could've at least helped, I literally said "Tolong" which was the Indonesian for 'Help!" I have lost faith in humanity today.
So, to the management please change your bathroom doors, and have a clean up crew while at it, your bathroom was also...
Read moreAs I'm from the USA, all the bookings with the hotel were done via the web and email, to include airport transportation pickup to the hotel, which I prepaid for.. I attempted, through email, to communicate with the reservation office about the process for our pickup as we were traveling with many pieces of luggage. I received no response. Even after sending several emails during on flights over to find out how to meet our driver, again, I received no response from the hotel. Upon arrival at the airport, I had to hire a taxi to take us to the hotel as there was no driver to meet us. Upon check in, the desk clerk indicated he had no knowledge of the airport pickup and had been waiting to hear from me. I mentioned he needs to check with reservations to see why they were either not receiving my emails or didn't reply. During our stay, we received no information from the front desk on this snafu. Overall, the hotel is in a nice location and has very good food and beverage service. We even tried out room service, and the Mushroom Ravioli is excellent! The rooms are a bit dated...as the wall paper is peeling and the shower seal leaks allowing water onto the bathroom floor. Air Con works pretty good. We did reserve an executive level room. We also looked at the junior suite as we were returning to Jakarta a week later for 8 nights, but decided to stay at the Marriott which has one-bedroom suites with a better layout and cost less. In summary, communications with your clients, especially the ones traveling long distances from the USA or Europe is critical. We arrive after 24 plus hours of flying time and are very tired. Anything you can do to make the airport pickup and hotel check-in very smooth and trouble free will go a long ways to having repeat customers and...
Read moreI usually don't complain about hotels, but this last stay has pushed me to place a bad review. The best thing about this place is the shelter from the street noise. That being said, I have stayed multiple times at this hotel due to my employers occasionally booking it because our usual spot is overbooked, and each time I come here it gets a little worse. They need to remove the carpet from this place. It's been here since the 1990s, it is faded and it smells of mould. Probably a health hazard, so they should just rip it out. The elevators are either broken or have a mind of their own. Everytime I stay here the elevator just takes me where it wants to and not to the floor I requested. This last stay, I had to request a change in room because the concierge initially placed me inbetween two rooms that were undergoing renovations and I was awoken at 7am after my 4am arrival to the sounds of power tools and hammering all around me, plus the curtains were jammed open and couldnt close all the way. The room service is slow, by the time the food gets to you it is cold. I have tried about a dozen different dishes and the only good thing on the menu is the truffle pasta, but they give you half a cup full (also cold). So you have to order 2 to get a full meal. Don't expect to get a knife amongst the cutlery. I guess knives were too expensive to include for this supposed 4 star hotel. Everything else is either bland or they load it up with chilli, and its obviously cold because it sat on a pickup tray for 20 minutes before somone brings it to your room, 40 minutes after your ordered it, so don't bother. The breakfast food is pretty below average and lukewarm. Seeing what it costs to stay here for the night, I am sure there are better options elsewhere,...
