Paris Sorbet! One of new dessert place I have been curious since they opened. It is located at Wolter Monginsidi area. The place is not so spacious but with high ceiling and simple interior makes this place looks spacious and so cozy and perfect for any kind of occassion. Seriously, I can sit there for hours.
They serve various of sorbet and gelato, cake and cake in a jar, also brunch menu. They also have coffee and tea. Price range for sorbet and gelato is from 45k for one scoop. It is quite affordable since their gelato is freshmade. They only have small batch of each flavour everyday. Almost all ingredients for sorbet and ice cream come from Indonesia (except the Raspberry), as well as the furniture and decoration. woah!
For the food, I tried Croque Monsieur. They also served the vegetarian version. Croque Monsieur was great, a lot of cheese on it, me likee it!! Other topping was also generous. For the sorbet, I tried Mango, Baked Apple, Blood Orange and RASPBERRY, my most favorite! 2nd favorite is Mango. All the sorbet tasted really good and refreshing, especially the Raspberry. It is sour and a bit sweet, thanks to the other condiments such as biscuit, raspberry nectar, vanilla chantily and fresh rapsberry which makes everything in the bowl balance. Mango sorbet was also great omg i love the condiments (diced mango with passion fruit, lime juice and its zest). Omg it was really balancing the mango sorbet. And hazelnut biscuit gave another texture and flavour! Luv! Ah for the ice cream, you should try the most basic one, VANILLA! It made from fresh vanilla seeds, from Papua origin. You can taste and smell a great quality of vanilla ice cream. It also tasted not too sweet!
Last but not least, I tried one of their signature cake, Sweet Lemon. It can be shared for up to 5 persons. The cake itself was not really soft in texture, a bit dense and crumbly but the lemon flavour gave an unique taste. The orange zest was also great to give another texture, it tasted like a candy with original flavour. However, it is a bit sweet for my liking.
Overall, Paris Sorbet is definitely one of must visit place in South area. The owner as well as the chef will directly serve you the best sorbet in town. They are so friendly and like to chit chat with their cust. You should pay...
Read moreFirst of all, I do love sorbet more than ice cream. The freshness of the sorbet and the light taste of the fruits always delightful to me compared to the milky texture of ice cream. So, my opinion towards sorbet might not be very neutral lol.
Tried the Mango sorbet first, and loved it so much, so ordered more of their faves; pineapple ginger, and tried one of the ice creams; vanilla.
I love the pineapple ginger, too. And I love that they gave crumbles and small bitsy under the sorbet, that it added some textures and flavor combination which enhanced the taste of the sorbet itself.
The vanilla ice cream was nice, too. But as I said, I enjoy the sorbet more lol.
What surprised me was, the fact that I didn't need to drink right after I ate them. I usually need to drink plain water to neutralize the sweetness, and the only one time I remember that I didn't need to drink after some ice cream was on my trip to Taiwan many years ago. They claimed that they only use the sweetness from the fruits and that's why it didn't make me wanna drink after. Well, I found the second one now here, at @paris.sorbet
Service was warm and friendly, place was very cozy and spacious, price was not the cheapest but then it is worthy.
I personally almost never look for anything cheap in particular, because I believe in value more than the price itself. I said worthy, since I know it needs extra knowledge, experiences, and tools to maintain the texture of the sorbet at certain temperature that it doesn't get melt easily but still smooth enough to be molded, I know it takes time to master the skill to create a perfect shape of sorbet like that, and I value the space and ambience which definitely costly, too.
Will definitely...
Read moreMy recent visit to Paris Sorbet was a refreshing dive into well-crafted flavors, right here in Jakarta. Nestled on Jalan Wolter, this spot has a calm yet stylish ambiance, perfect for unwinding with good food and drinks.
Starting off, I tried a Strawberry Iced Tea, which was vibrant and just sweet enough without overpowering the fresh berry notes. The Mocca Coffee was a treat, blending the rich chocolatey undertones with the boldness of coffee, giving a satisfying and comforting kick. My favorite, though, had to be the freshly pressed Apple Juice—it tasted like biting into a crisp apple, refreshing and pure.
For the food, I dove into the Black Truffle Pasta first, and it didn’t disappoint. The truffle was rich but not overwhelming, perfectly complementing the pasta’s smooth texture. Next was the Katsu Sando—a thick, juicy cutlet tucked between pillowy bread slices. It was hearty and flavorful, with just the right crunch on the outside.
I also ordered the Garlic Prawn Pasta, which was a delicious surprise. The prawns were fresh and garlicky, with a light yet flavorful sauce that coated each strand of pasta just right. Finally, the French Toast was a perfect dessert to end the meal, soft and golden with a subtle sweetness, almost like a cozy hug.
The service was attentive, and while it got a bit busy, the staff managed to keep things running smoothly. Paris Sorbet is definitely a place I’ll return to, especially for a relaxed meal with a good mix of drinks and dishes that balance comfort with refined...
