Hi !
Fyi, all the things I share about is by my personal experience. Maybe could help as a references :)
This the 2nd times I back to Pippo because want to eat Pasta.
I came around 12PM and for weekend this not to busy, the area still have lot of available seat. The ambience is warm with golden brown furniture and warm light.
The staff serves us well and greet us with big smile when entering the resto :)
They have outdoor & indoor area, the space was so spacious.
They serve wine , cocktail if you looking for companion to eat pasta.
Today we ordered 3 menu : Mix bruschetta Roman-style carbonara (w/pork bacon) Insalata mediterranea
For the pasta & bruschetta mushroom for me quite salty, the taste was yummy but too salty for me.
The mix bruschetta is very recomended for light-weight food and because the taste was unique. The mushroom have little hint of truffle aroma which is fragrant & nice.
For tomato & basil have a good taste too 👌🏼
Bacon for pasta was delicious, have smoky feel and not salty, oh, Pippo have a fresh homemade pasta which I choose for my roman-style carbonara ; spagethi. The creaminess for the pasta was so rich and it melting to your mouth, I will really joyfully eat this if not too salty 😆
I recomended pasta al-ragu which combined w/minced beef and tomato for the pasta, I love this one. The minced beef balance with tomato sour and with cheese it make the pasta a great things to enjoyed 🤤
For the salad, Insalata they used balsamic sauce combined with olive oil. I think its same with balsamic and olive they serve when they give you entree bread.
For the salad dressing i try it bit sweet with tangy from balsamic and also the texture was condensed and I’m not too like it so for the salad I just use the balsamic & olive oil that they serve to us before w/ 4:2 ratio for Olive oil : Balsamic and stir it generously then eat it each mouthful complete with tomato, lettuce, onion, feta cheese, orange and the balsamic w/olive oil was blend together well and it delicious 🤤🤤🤤 I love the salad.
If you look the photo, they very generous give the feta cheese. Thank you!!
Also, you maybe want to Ligurian minestrone the soup consist of mix vegetable w/pesto. The taste was unique, it have sweet-umami taste and balance with the salt taste. This was very good !! Love this too.
Overall I have a good experience when eat at Pippo, If you want to know more, you can check their Instagram 😉
Hope Pippo always have a good food to serve and see you again...
Read morePippo is one of the proper Italian Food in Jakarta. Hands on, their Pasta and Pizza tastes like straight from Italy. However, service feels like we are definitely in Italy 😂.
They almost denied us walk in entry by saying there’s 8 waiting lists, and decided at the last minute saying that there’s a table available but we can only sit for 1,5 hours. That’s only offered to us when we said “forget it”.
As mentioned at the beginning, the food is proper, good at best but what really ticks me is this thing that always haunted me ever since my first visit to this restaurant 🤦🏻♂️. I have this culture, that if the pasta is good, I will ask for extra bread so I can use it to eat the leftover pasta sauce with it. It’s not only a culture, it’s a compliment for the restaurant. As I understand it from my Italian friends, that’s actually a universal language for them that we’re complimenting them. The very first time I went to Pippo, they gave the bread but INSISTED on taking my plate with leftover pasta sauce away. I even said it’s okay 3 times because the same waiter wanted to take away my plate every 1 minute. I had to threatened that I would complain if he did it one more time. Yesterday was no different, as soon as I asked for the extra bread you can see the displease on the waiter’s face. Like does it even cost you money? It cost the restaurant money, and if I shouldn’t ask for more bread, just tell me or tell me that it costs extra for extra bread and I wouldn’t mind paying extra for it to wipe the displease on her face, seriously it REALLY PUTS OFF THE APPETITE YOU KNOW.
What’s worse, the extra bread took ages and 3 reminders for them to bring, the place isn’t even that crowded/busy 🤦🏻♂️. This is the first time I’ve ever had this problem with any italian restaurant, like seriously I felt like I had to beg for the extra darn bread 😂. Next time just say no for the extra bread seriously.
Anyways, see you till I see you Pippo, I’d much rather eat somewhere more...
Read moreReally love the food, been here a few times, last night we drove all the way to Sency just to eat Pippo. We had pesto pasta with bacon (wonderful), marinara pasta (also very good), truffle mushroom pizza (a little too dry but still very good). Big fan of their squid ink pasta tho, but it ran out of stock this time.
But there are are some things that bothers me: -The indoors are all occupied for smoking during dinner time and the music was so loud at 20.30 ish if im not mistaken..I would accept it if its late night drinking time and if they have proper ventilation system. I mean, i just wanna have my pasta peacefully you know. In which i chose to stay outdoors.
the outdoors was 80% occupied, we have a seat at the corner, wonderful. However, it was very hard to find the waiter. After we were given the seat, we waited for 10 mins and there was no one coming to bring the menu, there was no automated QR menu on the table either. We waited for another 5 mins to find a visible waiter.
idk if there was an understaff circumstance or whatsoever that make the workers were too tired, but what i experienced, the waiters were not the most hospitable, unlikely to smile and very stiff.
billing time, ofcourse its hard to find the waiter to get the bill. But when the bill came, the machine brought didnt have QR. so the guy went in to change the machine, but we were left for over 10 minutes, not being informed anything, while the bill guy was visibly busy doing something else. Did he forget to bring us the machine or what? We wonder. So we decided to go to the cashier by ourselves, and the guy saw us and mention “ah kak mesinnya masi dicariin” and finally the machine brought to the cashier to complete the transaction.
I truly love your food and simply just hope that Pippo could improve their service and management in the near future. I dont think this is acceptable for Biko’s as an...
