Shaburi & Kintan Buffet Gandaria City — Restaurant in Jakarta

The food? Just okay The service? Worst. Came here on weekend afternoon, there’s no staff standby in front of the store so I walked in to the cashier area, hoping anyone would at least approached me or told me to wait. Funnily the cashier (a woman) was just handling payment, didn’t have initiative to ask another staff to handle guest coming.

It was ME who approached one of the staff (a man). He was nice and very helpful, did SOP very well

When I was resting after eating, the cashier suddenly approached me with EDC on her hand and asking “kak kita harus close bill ya. Mau payment pakai apa?”. WOW JUST WOW. There’s no staff reminding me how much time did I have left, and this very “nice” staff just straight asking on which payment I wanted to use??? I answered and asked POLITELY about vouchers that I wanted to use there but she told me the voucher isn’t eligible in Gandaria City branch. Funnily then she asked me “sudah dapat bill belum kak?”. LOLLLLL SUPER FUNNY, she asked me to pay with EDC on her hand yet she hadn’t handed me the bill????

Then after paying the bills with so much patience because I didn’t want to make a fuss, she gave me the receipt then walked away. After 5 minutes of me wondering what kind of service did I just receive from her, she came back again to my table to hand me one more receipt (???)

Such a worst thing for a big brand which has numerous branches in mall, having a staff like that in one of a prestige mall in South Jakarta. Why do I even have to pay for service charge if I receive that kind of service from that staff?

Unbelievable. Definitely won’t come back to any Kintan Buffet branches. There’s a lot more AYCE restaurants who have BETTER STAFF with exquisite service & lower...

I have visited Kintan's outlet in Gandaria City Mall four times this year, along with numerous visits to their other locations. Generally, Kintan stands out for its variety, particularly adhering to the all-you-can-eat buffet concept. In terms of pricing, it is reasonable and comparable to similar restaurants. A highlight for me is their inclusion of lamb in the premium package.

So far, I haven't encountered any significant issues. However, there are areas where Kintan could improve. For instance, the consistency of service and the staff's attentiveness could be better managed, especially during peak times when the restaurant is crowded. Additionally, the speed at which food is refilled and the defrosting level of the meat before serving could be areas for enhancement.

My reason for not awarding a 5-star rating is based on a comparative experience of meat taste at different Kintan outlets.
