Golf Island PIK offers a delightful and renowned Sichuan-style menu. You can experience it by visiting Suji-Suan Cai Yu, a restaurant with a sufficiently spacious interior. The ample space creates an authentic Chinese-Sichuan ambiance, making it a pleasant setting for extended conversations. Regarding the menu, while not entirely Halal, they ensure options with no pork or lard. A highlight is their Suan Cai Yu, a fish soup (featuring carp and grouper) cooked with preserved mustard greens. In addition to the fish soup, they also offer Mala fried chicken, Chengdu-style sweet potato vermicelli, spicy and sour fish. We opted for their renowned Fish Soup, a signature dish that we complemented with an addition of Soun, a soft vermicelli noodle that harmonizes seamlessly with the rich, spicy, and tangy broth. To enhance the experience, we included some crispy Fried Tofu Skin, perfect for dipping into the steaming soup. A delightful surprise awaited us in the form of a plate adorned with corn kernels generously coated in a luscious salted egg sauce ā the Salted Egg Corns, adding an unexpected yet delightful twist to our culinary adventure. The restaurant exudes a comforting ambiance, making it an easy choice for our family whenever we find ourselves in the area. With its welcoming atmosphere and a menu featuring such flavorful highlights, Suji-Suan Cai Yu has become a reliable go-to dining destination for us.

..went there on a Saturday morning at around 0800AM to meet and chat with a friend, so my husband dropped me in that resto compound without parking.. Parking should be easy though as the front venue is spacey. The restaurant must be famous for its dimsum as they were already serving dimsum for bicyclers outdoor (under mounted tents) and it was very occupied. I chose to wait for my friend inside where they were not yet that crowded at that time and ordered some drinks (they offered me fresh sqeezed sunkist juice, served in a bottle) while reading and listening to the Christmas-music they played. Their dimsum is indeed very good.. loved their Lo Mai Kai and Egg Tart.. and will definitely come to revisit when being around.. (I asked to take-away all left overs we could not finish up, haha) Oh ya, I realized the indoor place becoming quite busy with visitors after 1000AM. Another thing I realized is that they cleaned up the tables after every visitor finished their meal. I liked the fresh scent that reached my nose everytime after they cleaned up. They are a halal restaurant by the way..

WAS IT BECAUSE WE DIDNT ORDER THEIR SIGNATURE DISH? OR WAS IT BECAUSE WE DIDNT LOOK CHINESE ENOUGH? That's what I have in mind by the time I walked out this place. We ordered just alright number of dishes for 2 people, 2 meats and 1 veg for main dishes; didnt order the signature dish because it was all fishes, which my friend is allergic to. But all our main dishes only arrived to our table 1 hour later after we completed the order process. There are other 2 tables guests who arrived later than us (within 15-30 mins later) but their dishes arrived faster than us; the only difference that I can see they order the signature dish or they are chinese. The dishes taste is fine (which help when giving this rating not lower than 3), but it is decaying over time with dissatisfaction of waiting while the other tables were served faster; as if the restaurant is run without any system in place. Room for improvement? A LOT! Gonna come here again? Maybe with bigger group (so we can order the signature dish) and have chinese friends to tag along.

If you crave the intense numbness of mala, you can waste your money here at Suan Cai Yu. First thing first, the fish soup with pickled vegetables, dried chilli, and mala is amazing, it's spicy, sour, refreshing, the fish is perfectly cooked, definitely the only highlight during my dining experience here. I tried the fried squid and i was basically assaulted by the sweetness of the braiding, it was so weird. The chicken mala were fun because it's like playing Where's Waldo...you tried to find tiny bits of chicken in the sea of dried chillies. The fried noodle was standard, nothing special. I would be more apologetic if the prize is reasonable but of course not, it's rather insulting in my opinion. The service was rather nice although the food came with quite an interval between each one. The place is nice and cozy with awesome looking plates, bowls, and cutlery. The place can be very crowded during lunch so be prepared.

Drove the length of the city to try this place. We had hoped for some great Chinese today, but sadly its not what we got. When we first walked inside everything was fine; clean, good lighting and nice atmosphere. We ordered our dim sum and it was all good (although nothing special tbh) but then we ordered our main course. First came the porkā¦on the menu pic it looked delicious, but when it came it came omg what a disappointment. It tasted horrible and some parts were even inedible. Then came the seafood fried rice; edible but bland x3. Maybe we should have tried the speciality-some kind of fish soup which most other tables seemed to be having, but it was a hot afternoon so we werenāt in a fish soupy mood and to be frank it didnāt look too appealing. The bottom lineā¦first time at any restaurant the only question worth asking is would you come back againā¦in this case itās a rather emphatic ānoā.

This is my 2nd time, my first was in Ashta. Ambience was good, Chinese-place feel. AC was also okay. Anyway, food was authentic, i recalled eating this authentic when i was in China. I requested the spice to be seperated, as i brought my kids along (they can't eat spicy food). My kids loved it too, they just drink the fish soup. I craved the cold dish chicken feet skin mala, yummy! Beer along with this dish...uuhh~ And the guiling gao desert...oh my goodness! The only thing to be improved is probably the service waiters. Their response is quite slow, they forgot to ask the desert to be served after the meal...only found out when i was about to make payment (realized the desert didn't come out, but was charged). But OK with the loud cheering when the fish soup arrived. Will be back soon!
