Taco Local — Restaurant in Jakarta

Came in and there was a crew there shooting for a promotion video i think, but the second we walked in, there was no waiter to be seen so we just found a table ourselves, waited there for another 5 minutes expecting someone to give the menu or at least tell us where it is, but instead I had to walk up to get my own menu which is located near the front door, and also had to directly tell the waiter to help us out with ordering the food. the owner or head chef was also there but completely ignored us and was just chatting, absolutely 0 customer service. After we ordered the food, we waited another 40+ minutes because they decided to use our food to shoot their videos and photos. There was one waiter that was kind enough to say sorry and inform us that our food was being used for the photoshoot and told us it would come in 5 more minutes but ended up not coming out for another 10 minutes or more. No compensation was given for the very delayed order and service, even though the owner or head chef was there and this just shows their attitude and mindset. Food is also not as good as it used to be.

If you want to shoot, at least close the store, if not, still prioritise your customers. Unacceptable customer service. This is not how you...

It’s been a while since I last been to Taco Local. Now got the chance to visit their place at Grand Wijaya Center. The place is actually spacious with dining & bar area, with an eclectic interior. Went there on a Saturday afternoon & the place was kind of quiet. Of course it was during odd hours like around 3pm which I went there just to munch a bit. As per my usual, I would get the Carne Asada Taco but unfortunately they ran out that day. So, I got the Taco Fish instead. Of course I wasn’t complaining because this was delicious. The fish was lightly coated in batter & fried until golden brown, and it wasn’t oily. It is served with guacamole and a spicy sauce which are great in complementing each element. Also got a serving of fries, which are fresh & nicely seasoned, and goes well with the sriracha mayo. As for the drink, just went for a simple Iced Lemon Tea, which was not only a thirst quencher but it also balanced out the whole meal. Service was quick & the team was attentive which is always a plus point. Definitely will be coming...

Havent had taco local for a long time due to previous bad experience. Decided to give it a go...Ordered through Gofood... lengua and al pastore.... almost couldnt recognize which is which.

Why are there sauce in a lengua taco? And it was underseasoned by a lot....also I ate a bite and like there was like a super hard crackling.... on it... had to spew it out...bad mouthfeel

The al pastore was slightly better but not what it was used to be 10 yrs ago... really gone down so much....

The quesadilla had weird after taste and bitterness...and the tortilla on the tacos was the thickest tortilla I have ever tried... it was dry and chalky...more like a failed pita....

I mean i spent like 300 k and got this... what...
