We stayed at The Dharmawangsa about 2.5 years ago and never forgot the stunning Indonesian interior, the delicious food, and the warm, attentive service. So when we started planning our honeymoon, we knew exactly where we wanted to go — back to this beautiful oasis in Jakarta.||From the moment we reached out to Mr. Arya at the hotel, everything was handled with care. His colleague Mr. Onggo arranged airport pickup and helped with our visa-on-arrival, making our arrival after a long flight smooth and stress-free.||When we arrived, Mrs. Michelle welcomed us with a warm smile and escorted us to our room, which had been beautifully decorated for our honeymoon. There was even a delicious cake and a beautiful gift waiting for us — such a thoughtful and heartwarming surprise!||We stayed for four nights in a spacious Executive Double Room with a wonderfully comfortable bed. It felt like a peaceful retreat.||Staff||The staff at The Dharmawangsa are truly exceptional. They seem to anticipate your needs before you even ask — something that’s become rare in many hotels. Everyone we met was kind, smiling, and genuinely welcoming. It made us feel not just like guests, but like we belonged.||Food||Breakfast here is unforgettable — the best we’ve had at any hotel, anywhere in the world. As a Dane, I was impressed that the Danish pastry actually tasted like a Danish, not just looked like one!||There’s a wide selection of Western and Indonesian dishes, and the staff will plate your choices and serve them at your table. The fresh fruit and juice options are fantastic — their orange juice is unbelievably good (we’ve only had something like it once before, in Bali). And the coffee? Incredible. The hotel has its own barista who can make a proper cappuccino, latte, or espresso — with almond, oat, coconut, or soy milk if you prefer. That’s a rare treat in hotels.||Pool||The pool area is peaceful and relaxing, with staff available to take food and drink orders. However, it could benefit from a bit more attention — perhaps a waterstation or a welcome drink when guests sit at the pool. At times, it felt a little too quiet, almost like you weren’t sure if the pool was open. A few small touches could make it more inviting.||Spa||We had two treatments during our stay and chose to have them in a room inside the hotel. While only single massages were available (a couples massage would have been lovely), the experience was still relaxing. Adding some soft music and aromatic oils could enhance the ambiance even more.||Gym||The main gym was under renovation, but the hotel had set up a temporary gym with treadmills, machines, and free weights on one of the floors. It worked well— just ask the staff where it is, if you’re looking to work out.||Atmosphere & Location||The hotel has a calm, refined atmosphere, with many guests seemingly there for business. That created a quiet, adult vibe — exactly what we were hoping for on our honeymoon. While it’s not within walking distance of sightseeing spots or malls, we used Grab to get around, which was easy and convenient.||Final Thoughts||We’re so happy we chose to return to The Dharmawangsa to start our honeymoon. It’s a place that truly feels special — warm, elegant, and welcoming. We’ll definitely...
Read moreWe had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Dharmawangsa Jakarta for 6 nights, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed, and every detail of our stay was handled with impeccable care.
The service was outstanding, the room was spacious, elegantly designed, and meticulously clean. The hotel staff went above and beyond to make us feel completely at home, treating us with such warmth and kindness.
A special mention to:
Ibu Diah and Ibu Shanti, who were incredibly friendly and attentive to our needs. Ibu Diah thoughtfully offered us chamomile tea to help us unwind — such a thoughtful gesture that made us feel so cared for. Ms. Hanum and Irwan at the front desk, who made the check-in and check-out process seamless and convenient. Their professionalism and genuine smiles truly set the tone for our stay.
The breakfast experience was phenomenal. We were so impressed by Pak Ahmdai and Pak Arya from the restaurant, who went out of their way to prepare special dishes like lontong sayur, soto ayam, and nasi gila, just because they knew they were our favorites, and they weren’t even on the menu! Such a personal touch that truly stood out.
We’re also grateful to Mas Affan and Dikki, who not only served us exceptional coffee but also patiently explained each type, enhancing our breakfast experience. And a heartfelt thank you to Riyan, Arief, and Vita for their warm hospitality and attentive service every morning.
At the pool, Pak Johan was incredibly helpful, showing us around the hotel facilities and even reserving the best pool beds for us — a small gesture that made a big impact.
And last but certainly not least, a sincere thank you to Mr. Angga, the General Manager, who surprised us with beautiful gifts inspired by Indonesian culture and cooking recipes just before we checked out. It was such a delightful and unexpected touch that truly made our stay unforgettable.
Thank you to the entire Dharmawangsa team for your exceptional hospitality. We felt genuinely welcomed and well cared for throughout our stay, and we can’t...
Read moreVery nice experience at the Dharmawangsa. Lobby and outdoor area are exceptionally nice. We love the pool, which is very clean and lovely. The lobby with traditional music entertaiment is amazing. The Friendly Staffs are amazing, truly Indonesian hospitality at its finest. Each and every room was spotless. Bathroom was huge, with plenty of water to stay hidrated. I especially love the bathroom since it was more like a dressing room, unlike other bathroom at other 5 star hotels in jakarta. Room was comfy, especially one with Balcony. We love it a lot. Room size is definitely big, pretty much the same as raffles or intercont maybe or at least around that size. What impressed me the most is the guest service hotline via the phone. I called quite late at night asking for facial tissue refill. The guy who picked up the phone was very friendly, the reason I said this is I’ve been to many hotels and most of the time they either sound flat or just the usual while picking up the phone. Staff at dharmwangsa over the phone sound very “lively” and my request came within 1-2 minutes only; while I know the property is hugeee like it’s not easy to deliver a thing to each room very quickly. I might be lucky that there was housekeeping nearby at that time but again the “mas” who came wa very friendly as well and gave me more than what I asked for. Impressive!!! Breakfast selection is fine. We totally love the outdoor area, enjoying the park, also the gym and indoor pool was great. What I love the most are the staffs, not a single person isn’t friendly at all, impressive. My tiny bit concern is the parking space which is a bittt limited but I believe they have a way to sort it. Unlike other hotels in Jakarta, I love its location at the rather ‘greener’ side of the city. The property surrounding is very ‘rindang’ unlike other 5 star hotels in the city. It was a nice stay, I left with a smile. Will be back for staycation maybe...
