Toby's Estate Kota Kasablanka — Restaurant in Jakarta

Absolutely terrible. The food was terrible, even without the taking price into account. The eggs (Benedict) was too well-done, not runny at all. Was it confused with sunny-side up? The beef patty in my burger was actually okay. However, the sauce unfortunately made the dish uneatable. This is absent exaggeration: it was incredibly, unbearably salty. Same with the sauce in the Sakshuka. This dish was meant to be full of vibrant spices that dance in your mouth. Instead, it tasted like cheap factory-made instant sauces that gas stations give out with their hot food. And it was too salty to boot.

This was just the food, and this alone was enough to warrant a one-star. Then you have the barristas who were obnoxiously loud. The volume with which they yelled at each other made me feel like I was in a nightclub bar. Did I step into the wrong establishment? The head barista was the major offender. I get that service staffs should be happy at work. I worked hospitality. But service staffs are there as an integral part of the customer experience. This guy ruined it.

Kudos to the waitresses. They were fast, friendly, and professional. Unfortunately, not enough for me...

This place definitely wins at their drinks and cakes/desserts. The carrot cake was exceptionally delicious and moist. The maincourse food however were a tad disappointing. I had the Mac and Cheese with Fried Chicken, my mother had the Chicken Parmigiano. While the pasta was alright, the chicken was as dry as the sahara, I mean bone dry, with breading that is way to thick and I'd say lacking flavour. You'd get better fried chicken at KFC. My mother's chicken parmigiano was the same, it came with a side of fries and a salad. The kicker at least my dish came warm. Her's wasn't even warm, room temp at best. The fries you could tell immediately weren't made in house, they were dry, cold and crispy like the fries you'd get at a McDonald's that have been re-fried. The only moist thing on her plate was the salad. To say she was disappointed would be an understatement. With the prices they charge, you'd definitely expect a better dining experience. Which is a shame because this place is so hyped up. Tl:dr Stay for the drinks and cakes, not...

1. Service was not very efficient. Time consuming on making order.. back and forward from cashier, to my table--since no one come to take my order after 10minutes, I have to go back again to the cashier to get the order done
2. No homogeneous standard to one another. Was thinking to have lunch on the begining but after point no.1 happened and knew I paid 65K for a plastic cup drink presentation (while other customer have proper drink presentation), I gave up.
3. Poor cleanliness on the floor. I love the pretty tiles design, it was beautiful. Unfortunately I saw many cake crumbs arround and it felt sticky in the shoes
4. Messy supplies and utensils were seen, not very appealing view. Back side of cashier near wash basin, saw some mess when a staff open the cupboard. That little rack near the wash basin also not easthetic with the messy...
