YATAI Japan Food Stall — Restaurant in Jakarta

Actually, i do love this place. They do serve authentic japanese cuisine with homy food street vibes. But, the thing was, their food was too salty. We did go there two times and for both times, We still think its too salty for our taste. Because the tables are limited, we do share table with another customer, and I heard they were saying the same too about the level of saltiness.

We did order Pork Belly steak with Garlic Butter, which i suspect the Garlic Butter maybe the cause of this overly saltiness. But the we tried their Miso Soup and it was salty as well. We did order another portion of Pork Katsu Curry Rice. It tasted amazing!

Overall, the food was good, they use fresh ingredients. The taste was very authentic. It would be nice if they could maintain their salt level. They are quite well known in the area so make sure to come early. They usually close around 8PM despite the closing...

The garlic pork steak was suggested and it was delicious. Meat was quite thick and garlic was strong! Personally I could do with bit more meat fat so not too chewy. Ginger pork belly was great on the other hand texture wise but missing the ginger sauce that we craved (only a hint and not enough). We still enjoyed both and the grilled potatoes & broccoli were tasty! Portion was generous and we ended up having enough for a single meal. Value for money is awesome as each dish is less than 100rb so definitely cheaper than the other Japanese chains nearby.

Must try if you're in Klp Gdg, we will try dining...

I came late, my friends ordered already. The old man suspected to be owner said I have to re queued for the order because I came late.

I understand my position for coming late and there are new orders from other customer before me, but it think owner no need to say like that to a customer.

Food was okay, price to be honest... A bit expensive, because the atmosphere was an old house, Outdoor, no AC, some mosquitoes and the heat from the kitchen goes around us who sit near the kitchen.

Will I come back? .. Maybe. Should you try? If you have the money and patience, wel.. Probably you should.

The smoked beef, can't smell any smoked at all, but it was a decent meat...
