PRIMER LUGAR EN EL QUE ME AMENAZAN A PUNTA DE CUCHILLO. Ya de por sí Padangbai no parece un lugar muy turístico, pero leer todo el comentario si apreciáis vuestra seguridad. Describo el circo que nos montaron cuando fuimos a cenar:

Elegimos este lugar para cenar por las buenas reseñas y la apariencia de restaurante casero. Entramos, había mucha gente sentada esperando sus platos. Nos sentamos y pedimos la cena y la bebida. Podía apreciarse la desorganización y crispación entre los propios trabajadores. Pasa media hora y nos traen las bebidas. Les preguntamos qué tal va la preparación de la cena, nos señalan la parrilla y nos dicen que esos son nuestros pescados, que ya nos los van a llevar. Vuelve a pasar media hora y nos levantamos a decirles que llevamos una hora esperando y que queremos pagar las bebidas e irnos porque se nos hace tarde. Sale un hombre y con con gestos simiescos nos dice que ya nos sacan la cena, que no nos vayamos. Les contestamos que llevan diciendo eso durante una hora y que queremos pagar e irnos.

El hombre DA UN PUÑETAZO EN LA MESA muy violentamente y nos dice que no nos podemos ir porque ya hemos ordenado la cena y nos la están preparando. Insistimos en irnos y más aún con esos modales. Se gira, AGARRA HOSTILMENTE UN CUCHILLO GRANDE DE CORTAR COCOS Y NOS APUNTA CON ÉL HACIENDO AMAGO DE ATACARNOS, mientras el resto de empleados nos empezaban a rodear. Nos quedamos alucinando y le decimos de forma calmada y fría que baje el cuchillo y que le damos 10 minutos para que nos saque la cena.

Las otras mesas, atónitas ante el espectáculo, empiezan a quejarse porque también llevan hora y pico de retraso. El hombre macaco desaparece. Al parecer la demora es habitual.

Nos sacan la cena finalmente. Los pescados estaban buenos, pero no acostumbro no es cómodo cenar bajo amenazas de cuchillo empuñado por un orangután. Como comprenderéis, no puede dejarse una valoración positiva después de esta experiencia. Además, dejamos propina por miedo a que nos siguieran después por los callejones oscuros en la vuelta a casa.

En resumen, si queréis salir sanos y salvos de Padangbai, NO COMÁIS NI CENÉIS AQUÍ, al entrar parecen majos, pero como se os ocurra reclamar algo (y siempre van con demora, mucha demora) se ponen MUY VIOLENTOS. Vamos, que tardaréis en cenar entre una hora y media y dos horas, y como os quejéis, es probable que os troceen y os metan a la parrilla.

A large restaurant at the corner bend of the busy (when there are boats arriving) small road that leads to the harbour. You can find it with smoke billowing up from the grill of the fresh seafood. The seafood is super fresh and my god, the sambal!! So amazing!! They have the ubiquitous fragrant sambal mata of Bali (shallots, sliced chillies, salt, sugar and coconut oil) and their signature sambal terasi which is this unique, super spicy and fragrant chilli sambal that goes amazing with rice. Completing the super fresh seafood, this place is a gem in Padang Bai. A must go if you’re there to take the ferries to the islands, stop by for dinner! Oh and the Ibu sometimes break out the karaoke set and belts out a few pop favorites! She’s an amazing singer!...
