Bambu is a stylish café in Uluwatu, connected to a gym, modern surfer-boho vibes, clean beige tones, and a dedicated A/C area. Prices are a bit high, but the food looks wholesome and beautifully plated, with many protein options and dairy alternatives.
It gets busy and loud until late afternoon. I had a coffee, quite acidic, which isn’t unusual for Bali, but I expected more here. However, the small brownie on the side was outstanding.
Nice spot overall , would return to try the food.
What left a lasting impression on me was the outstanding way the restaurant manager handled constructive criticism. In any restaurant, there may be moments when a dish or drink doesn't meet one's personal taste or even the usual standard. That in itself is not the issue. What truly matters is how the restaurant responds to such feedback.
I had a direct conversation with the manager regarding a drink, and I must say - he was not only exceptionally polite and accommodating, but also impressively professional. He listened attentively, took my remarks seriously, and addressed the matter thoroughly.
So, if you ever encounter a problem, I strongly encourage you to communicate it early on and speak directly with the manager. Give the team a fair chance to make things right before resorting to a formal complaint, which, at that stage, often can't change your...
Read moreWe ordered a Yellow Bowl and Banana Scramble Egg. At 12:30 PM, we were told they had already run out of granola – a key ingredient – and got a few extra super seeds instead. The bowl arrived after about 10 minutes, but I had to wait another 25 minutes for my dish. By the time it was served, my wife had already finished eating. So much for a shared brunch – something most couples look forward to on a Bali holiday.
While the food tasted fine and the place was busy, the experience was far from enjoyable. After paying, we ordered a banana bread to go and waited outside – standing at the roadside, about 15 meters from the entrance. Although we were clearly off the premises, the manager approached us in an unnecessarily rude manner, stating that smoking wasn’t allowed “on their property.”
When I pointed out the long wait for both the main course and now again for the banana bread, the manager chose to argue rather than show any understanding or offer an apology. Zero acknowledgment. Zero customer care.
On top of all that, the prices are steep and simply not justified for what you get – neither in terms of service nor portion size or atmosphere.
This place may look promising from the outside, but if you’re hoping for a relaxed, well-managed brunch with decent value for money – or if you’re a smoker – you might want to...

Finally, a waitress came up to me asking if I wanted to order something. I guess the staff doesn't really communicate to each other that there are customers waiting to be seated.
Onced seated, I immediately ordered something to drink which took a while to arrive because the waitress was more interested about chatting up people asking whether they went partying last night.
When I wanted to order something to eat the waitress told me they we're out of several breakfast options including the one I wanted the order. Something that would have been useful to mention earlier when I ordered my drinks... The waitress left to give me some time to decide on something else to eat. Time that I used to contemplate where else I would go because I had no time nor patience left to try to grab once again the attention of one of the waitresses.
Coffee was good though. So I would suggest you order a take-away coffee and then get out there as quickly...
