I dropped by Bench Brewery at 4:05 pm. and was greeted by Steele, who introduced himself as the (foreign) manager from WA. He enthusiastically promoted the “Blonde Ale 55 K super-dooper happy-hour special,” so I really wanted one—only to step five metres away and be told there were no Blonde Ale kegs on tap, nor would there be any for hours (maybe tomorrow or next week).
Steelie had claimed it was the island’s best-selling beer, so I assumed it must be good—but clearly no one checked stock before advertising it. Meanwhile, Steelemiester seemed more interested in chatting up two blondes and a brunette than managing the bar, and the rest of the staff were left to handle disappointed customers.
It’s a shame because the burger was great, and the venue has fantastic vibes—but the hype around “happy-hour pints” felt like a bait-and-switch. I hope management/ foreign mangement addresses this disconnect (the left hand really must talk to the right hand), because as much as I enjoyed the food and atmosphere, I won’t be back if the promos aren’t honored. Plus, there is lack of communication with the poor staff.
All in all, Stealio may have been in it for the wrong reason. Work on your game Steal because it felt like a foreigner scamming other foreign people and using locals to deal with it.
Definitely not a steal happy hour here. Pr maybe just a...
Read moreThis place and the food is next level!! It is so evident that the creation of this brewery was more than just a tourist trap and there is a serious passion for food. Serious thought has gone into the menu and into the training.
The menu is next level and the food is too! We had margarita pizza and the caesar salad and were amazed at how good it was, we came back again a second time to repeat and also tried fried chicken. They also have items like the mushroom enoki burger, lobster roll, an ice cream sandwich and other delicious items I’d like to try.
I love that they don’t rush you at the table, plates are not cleared when your half way through or rushed or asked if you have a reservation or any pressure and it is not pretentious what so ever which seems to be new theme with some of the new restaurants. It’s laid back vibes, and I absolutely love that the staff treated my partner good, who is Indonesian however lives permanently overseas in Australia and we frequent go back to indo.
We were sat on a nice table outside both times and there was zero pretentious or snobby vibes. And the food is just next level !! Our new fave in Bali. Prices are very reasonable as well and total quality. Also loved the mocktails ( mango coco and the sour cherry elderflower was sooo nice)
Will repeat this place every time we are in Bali,...
Read moreWhat an incredible find! This brewery in Uluwatu is an absolute must-visit for anyone who loves craft beer, good vibes, and stunning island views. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm, friendly service and a laid-back atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home.
The beer selection is impressive — each brew is carefully crafted with bold flavors and a refreshing finish, perfect for Bali’s tropical climate. Whether you’re into hoppy IPAs, smooth stouts, or crisp lagers, there’s something here for every palate. I especially loved the tropical pale ale — super aromatic with just the right amount of bite.
Pair your beer with their food menu, which goes beyond typical bar fare. Everything we tried was fresh and delicious, from the wood-fired pizzas to the Indonesian-inspired tapas.
Bonus points for the setting — think open-air seating, cool music, and a view of the sunset that’s worth lingering over. Whether you’re winding down after a surf session or starting your night out, this place hits the mark.
Highly recommended. This is the kind of spot that makes you want to come back before...
