Nestled in the vibrant heart of Uluwatu, Hatch Uluwatu is a bar that embodies the energetic spirit of Bali nightlife. With its ultra-modern design and electrifying atmosphere, it's the perfect venue for both locals and travelers seeking a memorable experience. My recent visit was prompted by an exciting fight night, where a friend from the gym was competing in the co-main event. Here’s a detailed account of my experience at this unique venue.
Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by Hatch's expansive layout. The club exudes a space-age vibe, featuring sleek lines, bold lighting, and a blend of contemporary furnishings that invite you to settle in and soak up the ambiance. The venue is large enough to accommodate a lively crowd, yet it manages to maintain an intimate feel thanks to thoughtful seating arrangements and sections that encourage both mingling and relaxation.
We were fortunate to have secured a VIP table for the night, offering us an ideal vantage point to watch the fight unfold. The VIP area, elegantly designed with plush seating and mood lighting, felt like a private haven amid the club's vibrancy. It was spacious and comfortable, allowing for a casual yet upscale atmosphere. While enjoying the action on stage, we were easily able to chat and cheer amongst ourselves, thankful for the segregation from the more fervent spectators in the general area.
What pleasantly surprised us was Hatch’s willingness to accommodate our group's preferences. As a crew of gym enthusiasts—focused on maintaining our fitness goals—we opted for a non-alcoholic experience, and the staff was more than happy to adjust our package accordingly. This level of customer service is commendable and reflects a forward-thinking approach to hospitality, ensuring that all guests, regardless of their choices, feel included and valued.
Despite our focus being on the fights, we couldn’t resist sampling some of the bar food Hatch had to offer. The menu, while primarily simple, features classic options like chicken wings, fries, and a selection of fried items that are staples for any bar. While the food didn’t blow us away, it was suitable for the setting—a no-frills selection that complemented the festive environment rather than overshadowing it. The chicken wings were decent, crispy on the outside and tender inside, while the fries, though standard, were perfectly seasoned and served hot, ideal for snacking during the bouts.
One of the highlights of the night was undoubtedly the atmosphere. The pulsating beats from the DJ set an exhilarating tone, enhancing the excitement of the fight night. The crowd was lively, a mix of locals and tourists, all united in their enthusiasm for the event. It was infectious, and you could feel the adrenaline in the air as the fights progressed. While the VIP section offered a more controlled experience, Hatch does not superfluously restrict access to enjoyment—the ambiance was communal, filled with laughter, cheers, and friendly banter.
For those not looking to splurge on VIP treatment, Hatch provides ample seating across various areas of the venue, ensuring that everyone can find a comfortable spot to enjoy the show. Whether you prefer a high-top table near the bar for a more energetic atmosphere or a cozy lounge space to kick back, there’s something for every preference.
As the night unfolded and the fights intensified, it became clear that Hatch Uluwatu is more than just a bar; it is an experience, a fusion of entertainment and community. While the food may not be the focal point of your visit, the seamless blend of high-energy events, accommodating service, and stylish surroundings make it a great spot for a night out in Bali.
In conclusion, my experience at Hatch Uluwatu was highly enjoyable. The club's design and dynamic environment set the stage for an unforgettable fight night, bolstered by accommodating staff and a lively atmosphere that beckons for repeat visits. What started as a promising night at Hatch in Bali turned into a nightmarish and traumatic experience that we’ll never forget. One of our friends was harmlessly sitting at the bar table to have her picture taken when a bouncer stormed over and violently grabbed her without any explanation. The aggression was completely unprovoked and shocking—if sitting at the table was an issue, it could have easily been communicated politely. Instead, the bouncer chose to physically assault her.
We immediately rushed to her defense, only to find the situation spiral further out of control. The management showed complete disregard, as if they didn’t care, while several other bouncers swarmed us like a mob. They began shoving and pushing us around aggressively, escalating the situation unnecessarily. The worst part? The same bouncer who assaulted our friend then headbutted another member of our group directly in the face, breaking his nose and causing it to bleed profusely. It was horrifying to see blood pouring out as he writhed in pain, and we were left with no choice but to rush him to the hospital for emergency stitches.
This was barbaric. The complete lack of accountability from the staff and the outright violence we endured was traumatizing. What should have been a joyful night turned into a hospital visit
To the owner or management: you must address this immediately. We’ve attached a picture of the bouncer responsible and a video that captures a glimpse of the chaos. Such behavior is unacceptable, and we hope no one else has to go through...

My friends and I had a terrifying experience. While taking a picture near the bar, the bouncers suddenly approached us aggressively, shoving and pulling us without any provocation. All they had to tell us was to not take a photo but despite our pleas for them to stop being aggressive, they continued the assault. Some of our friends tried to defend us, but the bouncers remained relentless and violent.
To make matters worse, other bouncers and bartenders began banging on tables and seemed to be enjoying the horrifying spectacle . Even as we tried to leave the club, we repeatedly requested not to be physically assaulted, but one particular bouncer was completely out of control. He continued to chase, abuse, and harass us outside the club while we stood helplessly waiting for taxis.
The management showed absolutely no concern or responsibility when we tried to explain the situation. If you value your safety and well-being, especially as a woman, I strongly urge you to avoid this place at all costs. Enjoy Uluwatu elsewhere, where you can feel secure...
