Well like others we ended at this restaurant looking for Indian food and we regretted our decision immediately after the food arrived. While placing the order we were asked about the spiciness of the food and we went for spicy and trust me , the food was nothing but just spicy! They really don't know the basics of Indian cooking and are running an Indian restaurant. The veg curry had boiled vegetables in yellow gravy which again tasted just spicy and the chicken tikka masala looked red because of heaps and heaps of red chilly powder thrown into it , severed with some boiled chicken in it.
So in short , we tried to eat the food as much as we could and I ended up with an upset stomach and my husband ended up with stomach burn.
After all we went through I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. THIS IS NOT AN AUTHENTIC INDIAN RESTAURANT & THE FOOD WILL MAKE YOU SICK.
Also, the staff started to clear our table before we were done eating, it's like they wanted us to leave ASAP, so that's...
Read moreI’ve eaten here twice whilst staying at the Ibis hotel, it’s literally a couple minute walk away. The staff are very friendly and both meals I had were tasty, value for money and very good versions of the meals. The first time I had the Masala dosa, this was a little smaller than usual but was packed full of potatoey curry goodness, and came with two of the sides you normally get. It was delicious and at around $7.50 I thought a pretty good price. The second time I had the chicken murtabak and a garden salad. The salad was the pretty standard selection of Indian veges with no dressing. The murtabak was itself rather good, though I came across two tiny bits of gristle in the main the flavour and size were good, the accompanying vege curry sauce made it into something quite delicious though, and again at around the $7.50 mark really good value. The place always seems quite which is a shame as the food really is good. So when you need a change from hotel or Indonesian food, hit...
Read moreTL;DR: overpriced and not worth it. You might ACTUALLY throw up.
The food itself tasted good at first but there were multiple drawbacks. Garlic cheese Naan for 55k IDR gets you just one Naan with 25cm diameter. You'll get cheaper Naan in wealthy Singapore! Vegetable samosa for 75k IDR gets you just 2 potato filled samosa with a dip. Butter chicken is made with supposedly boneless chicken (says so in the menu) but that doesn't matter if the chicken pieces got hard tendons and cartilage all over them. Just the drinks are fairly priced and the staff is very friendly albeit slow at times. To top it off we got diarrhea and nausea the next morning. When we were throwing up, pieces of undigested meat came back up.
FYI: I've actually been to Pakistan and love indo-pakistani food and I have no problem with the fact, that the owner/chef isn't Indian (in contrast to other customers...
