I came here with my family for 2.5 weeks in September 2024. There was 5 of us in total and split into two rooms. ||Firstly, we loved the welcome drinks when checking in. Having just had a 19 hour flight, it was a lovely touch. The staff were very friendly and hardworking, nothing was ever too much for them. The grounds of the resort are absolutely beautiful and well maintained, we saw the maintenance men working on the upkeep almost daily. The rooms are spacious and very clean and tidy, the maids do a great job. The beds were very comfy and there was lots of wardrobe space. ||The pool was also clean at all times and due to the time of year we went, the weather was very hot so we stayed in the pool most of the time. The pool bar is great, the bar workers were very quick at getting orders out and always made amazing drinks. There is a menu for cocktails and soft drinks included in the all inclusive and also a separate menu of drinks you can pay for using more premium alcohol. We stuck with the all inclusive drinks which were great. The watermelon smoothies were a massive hit with us all, all the fruit juice is blended from fresh fruits they cut up in front of you. ||The food at the restaurants was amazing! Always lots of choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I am vegetarian and found lots of options and everything was clearly labelled. We mostly had dinner at the restaurant that opened after the buffet one at night as they did great food you could order off the menu, they did really good pizzas and I loved the vegetable curry. They were open all night until the buffet restaurant opened for breakfast so if you fancied ordering chips or even a full meal at 3am you could!||The entertainment was okay - we really enjoyed the show put on at the temple, the dancers and music was brilliant. However, a lot of the usual night acts were mostly singers which did get boring, none of us really enjoy watching singing acts. We would only watch a bit of it whilst having dinner and then go to the lobby bar and have drinks. The staff on the lobby bar were such lovely people, made great drinks and always had the nicest smiles and conversations, I wish i remembered their names! ||The location of the resort is great too, myself and my sister got a taxi to Finns Beach Club, this was the other side of Bali and cost the equivalent of £10 each way, we couldn’t believe how cheap this was. The excursions the hotel offered were amazing value as well, we did the Monkey Forest, temple, Bali swing, rice fields and coffee tasting in one day for the equivalent of around £25 per person, this included the taxi fare as well which was organised by the hotel. My parents and brother also did the white water rafting and sunset volcano hike. ||The spa at the hotel was also really good. I had a full body massage for 60 minutes and the ladies were really good at their jobs. The massages were also so cheap, this cost the equivalent of £15. ||The beach is also kept really nice and clean, you can see the staff out every day getting rid of the sargassum. We also paid to set baby turtles into the sea which was such a lovely experience and we were able to see them in the water until quite far out as the sea was clear. ||There is a few activities on the resort, mini golf is one of them. The staff also hold daytime activities. We enjoyed making the offerings and the exotic fruit tasting and also the aqua aerobics. The resort is also located nearby to lots of small supermarkets and restaurants if you are not all inclusive. I would recommend bringing currency to tip the workers, they work really hard and are the loveliest people you could ever meet but they earn so little. They are ever so grateful for any tips and deserve it. ||The gym is extremely small and there was a lot of broken equipment when we were there (this may well be resolved now) but don’t hold any high hopes if you are a regular gym user on holiday. You would be lucky to fit 4 people in at the same time and there isn’t much choice of equipment so it limits your workout. ||All in all, we all enjoyed our stay so much. It has been our favourite family holiday and we are well travelled. We often talk about wanting to come back here. Hopefully one day soon we...
Read moreAs a seasoned visitor to Bali over the course of 14 years, I am compelled to provide a review that not only captures attention but also offers valuable insights into my recent stay at a specific hotel.
Regrettably, despite my extensive experience in Bali, I must report that the hotel in question falls within the lower tier of accommodations. With an unwavering commitment to transparency, I present my findings to assist discerning travelers in making well-informed decisions.
One of the most disheartening aspects of my stay was the beach, which failed to live up to the vibrant and lively expectations typically associated with Bali's coastal areas. Instead of a bustling and energetic shoreline, I encountered a disappointingly desolate and poorly maintained expanse. This unexpected absence of beach culture deviated from the vivacity and allure Bali is renowned for.
In terms of the rooms, their size was commendable, but their outdated decor left much to be desired. Numerous reports circulated among guests regarding malfunctioning bedside plugs, flickering toilet lights, and the absence of consistently hot water during showers, with only lukewarm temperatures available. Despite being advised to wait for the generator to warm up within 30 minutes, no discernible improvement was observed, rendering the suggestion ineffective.
Although the hotel staff exhibited a degree of friendliness, their responsiveness to guest needs was notably lacking. The breakfast offerings, often considered a vital part of the guest experience, were disappointingly limited in variety and choices. It is worth mentioning that an air of condescension was occasionally present among the breakfast staff when simple requests, such as milk with coffee, were made.
Nevertheless, it is important to acknowledge the hotel's redeeming quality, which lies in its architectural design. The incorporation of authentic Balinese style in the construction of the hotel is visually captivating and pays homage to the enduring cultural heritage of the region.
The Wi-Fi on the other hand is awful around your rooms and have to either go outside your room or on the balcony of your room to pick up a slow Wi-Fi connection. It more of a headache than peace of mind.
Furthermore, due to the hotel's inadequate support and underwhelming offerings, I found it necessary to seek alternative accommodations in order to reinvigorate the holiday experience. Frustrated by the unsatisfactory nature of my stay, I made the decision to book an additional three nights at a different hotel in Nusa Dua Beach. This strategic move aimed to recapture the essence of a fulfilling and rejuvenating vacation that had been lacking at the initial hotel. It reflects my unwavering commitment to maximizing my time in Bali and finding solace in an environment that genuinely embraces the principles of outstanding hospitality.
In conclusion, I strongly encourage discerning travelers to carefully consider their options. It would be prudent to explore neighboring hotels, conveniently situated near the Bali Collection or Nusa Dua Beach, which embody the pinnacle of service excellence that Bali has to offer. By refraining from selecting this particular hotel, one can be assured of finding superior alternatives that will undoubtedly enhance their...

I brought my mum to Nusa Dua and picked Bali Tropic Resort and Spa as I thought it would be well suited. Firstly I called ahead of our arrival to let them know it was to celebrate a milestone birthday for my mum and they didn’t do anything to make her feel special despite me asking (and I was willing to pay extra).
Then to make matters worse, after the first couple of nights I was waking up with bites on my legs and it didn’t make sense as they weren’t mosquito bites…turns out both my mum and I had ants in our bed that were biting us while we slept. YUCK 🤢
I complained and managements solution was to change the sheets. When I told them that wasn’t sufficient they offered to relocate us to a club room which we accepted. However unbeknownst to us, the club rooms are located near the Royal Santrian Hotel which throws events and weddings and made us feel like we were in Kuta 🤦🏽♀️ I could hardly sleep. The music was blaring until midnight last night, as I write this review the music has become louder and people are screaming and partying and it’s 11:35pm. I signed up for Nusa Dua, NOT KUTA! Reception weren’t of much help when I called them about the noise either 👎🏽
If you’re looking for quiet nights then DO NOT stay in the club rooms, just don’t do it!
Overall Bali Tropic Resort and Spa is outdated and has zero vibe, the staff are pleasant but also quite disinterested. The food is sub par for a 5 star resort and there is zero service at the pool or under the umbrellas on the beach…if you want a drink you have to line up and wait or swim to the bar to order. We resorted to going across the street to the mini mart which meant we didn’t have to wait in lines at the hotel bars. I’ve stayed at resorts before that offer service by the pool or at the beach beds and there was ZERO SERVICE.
As a seasoned traveller from Australia I would NOT recommend this resort to Australian families. It’s just not worth it, spend your money elsewhere!!! Uluwatu has much better amenities and there are significantly better resorts compared to Nusa Dua.
I added a photo of the ants for reference, I filmed the noise coming from the events next door but the video doesn’t do it justice, trust me when I say the noise is obnoxious in real life and it has a Kuta vibe at night 👎🏽👎🏽
The only plus was the view from the beach, photos for...
