Dewata Coffee is undoubtedly a gem when it comes to coffee drinks. Their menu is rich with options, from classic espressos to more complex drinks, but each cup demonstrates a dedication to the craft of coffee. The beans are roasted to perfection, allowing the rich, nuanced flavors to shine through. I ordered a flat white, and it was easily one of the best I've had in Bali—smooth, velvety, with the right balance of bitterness and sweetness. Their cold brew is another standout, offering a refreshing yet bold flavor, perfect for cooling down on a hot afternoon. The attention to detail in each drink is clear, from the precise temperature to the skillfully crafted latte art that makes each cup an aesthetic experience as much as a sensory one.

Avocado Toast with Poached Eggs

As for the food, the avocado toast with poached eggs is a must-try. It’s not just your ordinary avocado toast—Dewata Coffee elevates this brunch staple to another level. The bread is fresh, with a perfect crunch that contrasts well with the creamy avocado. They layer it generously, ensuring you get the buttery richness of the avocado in every bite. The eggs are poached to perfection; the yolk breaks open beautifully, cascading over the toast and adding a delightful richness. I tried the tropical bowl, and it was a vibrant, colorful mix of fresh local fruits—mango, dragon fruit, banana, and papaya—blended into a thick, cold smoothie base. Topped with granola, coconut flakes, and chia seeds, it offers a delightful combination of textures—crunchy, creamy, and juicy all in one bite. The smoothie itself is refreshing, perfectly chilled, and not overly sweet, allowing the natural flavors of the fruit to shine through. It's a light and revitalizing option that feels perfectly suited to Bali’s tropical setting.

One of the best things about Dewata Coffee is how it serves as a respite from the heat. The air conditioning here is a godsend after walking through Bali’s humid streets. Whether you’ve been sightseeing, shopping, or just wandering along the beach, stepping into this cool, calm café feels like a rejuvenating experience. The comfortable seating and cool air make it the perfect spot to unwind and refresh, which can be surprisingly hard to find in Bali, where many cafes lean toward outdoor, open-air seating.

Musical Moment: “Midnight at the Oasis”

What makes Dewata Coffee even more special is the eclectic music they play, which somehow perfectly complements the laid-back yet refined vibe of the café. During my visit, I was pleasantly surprised to hear Maria Muldaur’s classic Midnight at the Oasis playing softly in the background. It felt like an unexpected but charming throwback. For anyone familiar with the movie Waiting for Guffman, this song might evoke a smile, as it was used in one of the film’s hilariously earnest audition scenes. It’s a song that conjures up a feeling of nostalgia and whimsy, fitting well with the café’s chilled-out yet slightly...

What a find! We found this delightful little cafe on Google Maps whilst looking for some good value places to eat during our visit to Nusa Dua (which can be very pricey if you don’t venture out and about a bit).

The Smoothie Bowls were exquisite, in both taste and presentation, the chicken burger my sons had were great and my Mum said her meal was the best cafe smashed avocado and poached eggs she has ever had.

The staff were so welcoming and kind and they worked like clockwork to get all of the food out together for a party of 9 adults and 2 little ones.

The place itself is very small but if you go in the off peak times they can accommodate a group.

It is spotlessly clean and the coffees and other drinks were also excellent.

Well worth a visit!

Can I give 10 stars please. Food 10/10 not too heavy, eggs cooked perfectly check the pics, smoothie bowl absolutely perfect and freshly made, wedges cut and cooked to perfection, coffees amazing. I’ve got to say I’ve been to Bali around 15 times now and this might just be the best place I’ve ever eaten at. Currently special of the month is buy a Smashed Avo with Poached eggs and get your coffee for free! So our bill. 2x Smashed Avo 1x Mango Smoothie Bowl 1x Wedges 1x Iced Americano 1x Iced Oat Latte Total? $20AUD I was in San Francisco 4 weeks ago and paid around $70USD for the same meal.
