I was referred by the hotel concierge about this place. I also checked google review online before I booked appointment. However, the price they charge is so different from what I expect! It was at least 3-4 times higher than regular small local massage stores, so I have very high expectations. I even declined other recommendations of my friend. However, it was so upsetting and disappointing.
Starting from shuttle service from the hotel, (that’s one of the incentive for booking the place), we were treated differently. The driver only sat in his car and greet us. He didn’t come off and open the door for us. However, when he drove us to the next resort, not only he got out to find the guest, he even opened the door for her who is a Caucasian woman from Australia. My friend and I felt being treated differently because of our race. Then came to the spa, I chose deep tissue massage combo with foot massage for 2.5 hours. My friend chose 2-hour regular massage with foot massage as well. It was a torture during the deep tissue massage. She was grinding on my bones most of the time and rarely got the pressure point right. Even I acknowledged it, she moved on quickly to other places. After I told her I was on the plane for 22 hours plus sprained my ankle, she did nothing to help relieving my lower back or ankle. Instead my back hurts and my shin has bruise. I could not even go to another massage therapist because it hurts so much. During the foot massage session, I felt the therapist has nails. I have done quite a bit of massage in my life, but I have never saw that before. After I told her about the nails, I can still feel her nails when she tries to massage deep. Usually deep tissue massages are handled by experienced therapists. But I don’t feel her experience matching what I expected.
In addition, I am also bothered by the fact that the front desk woman pushed for google review when I have not comprehend what’s going on. My friend told me hers was bad too. It was only good for the first 10 minutes then it went downhill. I cannot believe they have nerve asking to meet me in person when I told the hotel what happened. They already wasted my valuable time in Bali (I only have 6 days not including the flying). They were probably worried that I’ll post something on google. To me that’s not apology. That’s called damage control!! Now I know why they have so many good reviews. I would not trust them. Do the homework! Do not book unless you saw how busy the place is. That’s another red flag...
Read moreAfter spending half an hour compiling over 40 messages , for a massage , body scrub and mask , mini facial and manicure and pedicure , I was finally able to get a firm price .
Except on the day , the lady proceeded to hand me a price list and had no idea about what I had booked despite showing her my messages from their own spa .
They didn’t seem to have the tools for the manicure and pedicure and were tripping over bottles of nail Polish on the floor .
After 3 days the gel has completely come off one of my nails despite doing zero manual labour as we are on holidays.
My one nail polish lasts linger than this .
I kept telling them it’s for myself and a friend yet they ran a bath and expected us to both get in it together !!
Communication was awful , we paid 2.5m and we basically got a good massage , an ordinary body scrub which we were Freezing in the room.
The facial never happened and then they tried to charge me more at the front desk as they had forgotten what we booked .
Now I have an uneven set of of polish and will have to get it rectified at home .
This is why I don’t write reviews while I’m in a salon as I like to see what the outcome will be .
Not happy
Will not be back.
If you do message this place , keep your messages to show them as the price changes and the quality...
Read moreI was disappointed with my experience at Zahra Spa, despite the many positive reviews.
For my first visit, the salon arranged pick-up and drop-off, which I appreciated. I received a manicure with UV gel and was surprised that they charged extra just to remove the old gel, in addition to the manicure and gel application. The overall service was fine but nothing special.
Unfortunately, the gel on my nails started peeling in less than a week. I contacted the salon and they offered to fix it, which I appreciated. I specifically asked for a more experienced technician for the second visit and they agreed. However, they didn’t offer pick-up and drop-off this time, which felt inconsistent, especially since this was a fix for work that didn’t last.
The fix itself was disappointing. They didn’t redo the manicure, just removed the gel and applied a new layer without proper filing or preparation. As expected, the gel started peeling again the very next day.
Overall, I left feeling disappointed. The service lacked consistency and professionalism, especially when it came to handling the follow-up. I won’t be returning for nail services. That said, I received a massage from Iin during the second visit and she was excellent. I would consider returning just for a...
