One of the worst service experiences I’ve had. I arrive at the club (walk in) and receive a buzzer to wait for availability to enter the club. I was advised to wait in the seating area amongst others and that the buzzer would ring when it was my time to enter. I’m was well aware of the possibility of having to wait as I did not have a booking.

While I was waiting I saw the waitress slowly escorting people down to the beach. I had assumed she would take me down as well once it was time. An hour passed and I was still waiting. I saw a group of people just enter and headed straight down the beach. I asked the reception why I hadn’t been notified & the buzzer didn’t go off. I was still waiting. I did not receive and apology and she simply told me I could do down. I spoke to the cashier who processed my entry fee and she told me that people have been coming down for 40 minutes and that there was not much of a wait. So I had essentially wasted 40 minutes of my time waiting. She told me she would tell the staff at the beach to offer me a beanbag ASAP or first once it was available. Again. I wait ANOTHER HOUR and watched as other people received a beanbag and their space on the beach. I approached staff on three different occasions. They advised me that they would let me know ASAP and told me they were still waiting as I can literally see people being designated bean bag seats. One of the staff members walked off as I was explaining the situation. The third interaction she approached the manager after having a discussion with the other staff snickering and laughing at me in a disrespectful way. I was already upset having waited two hours to get in and be seated when I was told I would be prioritised. The only person who bothered to apologise was the manager who only apologised after I got upset when he advised me there was a wait list even though I was told I would be seated next due to the receptionists error.

He immediately prepared a space for me after I explained the situation AGAIN but it took two hours and speaking to staff on multiple occasions. Nothing was offered as a gesture of good will either. I was incredibly upset and felt humiliated when multiple staff members laughed and looked at me in disdain. This was an awful experience and I absolutely do not advise anyone to come here.

I only received one single apology throughout this whole ordeal and I am deeply disappointed.

The food was mediocre but the sashimi that was $65 was disgusting and had white strings all over it. You can get much nicer food and drink at other clubs do not waste...

Sundays Beach Club – A Premium Experience with Room for Improvement

First Impressions and Entrance

Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and directed to the initial restaurant on the premises. To access Sundays Beach Club, you descend a staircase where you're required to purchase an entrance ticket and commit to a minimum spend. Personally, I believe one of these requirements would suffice, regardless of how beautiful the venue is.

A cable car then transports you down, offering a delightful experience with breathtaking views, enhancing the sense of exclusivity.

Service and Seating

At the beach level, a team of friendly staff welcomed us and guided us to our table. Due to high tide, we initially sat at a table and decided to dine. Our expectations were elevated, given the exclusivity the club projects.

Drinks

We started with two mango daiquiri zeros—one frozen and one regular. It was pleasing that they offered a frozen variant, and while the cocktails were flavorful, they weren't the best we've had in Bali.

Food

For an appetizer, I chose the slow-cooked beef taco (without cilantro). The taco was tasty, with good flavors and the expected texture, but nothing extraordinary. I would rate it 8/10.

My wife opted for the vegan moussaka. Upon arrival, the dish appeared small, accompanied by more salad than moussaka and served with fries. Serving fries and salad with moussaka is unconventional. The moussaka was nearly cold, the salad lacked flavor, and the fries didn't seem fresh. This dish merits a 5.5/10.

I selected the mahi-mahi with coconut curry. The menu indicated it came with grilled vegetables or steamed rice, but we were informed the choices were salad or fries. I would have preferred both sides. The mahi-mahi was juicy and well-prepared, but the coconut curry sauce was basic and lacked depth. The portion was small. I rate it 6.5/10.

Price and Quality

After these dishes, 75% of our minimum spend was reached. The prices are high, but the food quality doesn't meet the expectations associated with such establishments. This was disappointing, although other reviews might have different experiences.

Conclusion

Sundays Beach Club offers a stunning location with an exclusive ambiance. The entrance fee and minimum spend may seem steep, and the food quality could be improved to meet high expectations. Nonetheless, it's worth visiting for the unique experience and breathtaking views.

OMG WHAT A PLACE!! From the moment you arrive it’s just WOW! The Ungasan Hotel at the top is breathtaking (would love to stay there one day!), and the views are incredible from the top (you can use the swimming pool at the hotel as a Sundays guest). We spent the most AMAZING day at Sundays, however unfortunately on the day of our visit their cable car wasn’t working, so we had to walk down / back up from the beach. When we arrived at the check in desk / reception they explained this, and said because of this they would discount our day pass (which we didn’t expect!). So we didn’t actually pay to use the beach club, as the amount we paid was all given back to us in a food / drink allowance that we used in the restaurant. Actually the cable car not working was such a lovely opportunity to walk down the steps / path through the most beautiful jungle type of plants / scenery, and the walk back up wasn’t as bad as we thought. The beach club is so well organised. When you arrive there are staff at every point to welcome and assist you. They gave us towels, showed us to our bean bags for the day (when we arrived there were plenty free, but within an hour they’d almost all gone so arrive early), and we had plenty of shade for our children. The beach is stunning, the sand is white, soft and clean (however there is some broken coral / rocks in places). The sea has the most beautiful bright turquoise colour but be warned - the current here is strong! It may have been a more choppy day, but the waves made being in the sea difficult, and the current really pulled you down the beach. The hardest part was staying upright getting in / out of the sea at the shore ;) My husband and son did enjoy borrowing a kayak for 20 mins or so. To order food / drinks straight to your bean bags, you just wave a flag and a member of stage quickly comes over to take your order. The food / drinks were a little more pricey, but they were still incredible value for money and really good quality. We decided to stay for dinner, and we sat in the restaurant overlooking the beach for a stunning sunset. We had a day we’ll never forget, and look forward to...

Such a nice day at Sundays Beachclub! Reopend april 8th 2022 and so lucky we were just here after they reopend. We had a daypass experience which is around 350K from which you receive 250K credit. If you think some entrance fee is a scam, think again. This is one of the better places to go for a great beachday. Resort is well maintained, and the walk to the beach is nice and great to see. They have an quick, long elevator (which feels safe) and brings you down to the beach and up after sunset or up to you choosing. No additional costs there. When you arrive in the beachclup, you find a nice place for pictures and you will find good food and quality cocktails in the bamboo bar area, there is an happy hour around 17-18, times may vary after my posting date off course. Sunset experience is great, as long the clouds dont mess it up you will have a lovely time. The beach has good sand and broad enough to find your perfect spot. During the day you can enjoy a free snorkling or paddle activity as well (I think its without additional costs tho). In the evening they light the fireplaces and bring marshmallows. As said, a great day experience, including afternoon untill after sunset. Please note you cant stay here untill midnight. I guess you can stay here untill 20:00 (where The Edge give you the time untill 19:00) Bigger groups (6-8 people) can rent a first floor 'bungalow', with private shower (forgot if there was private toilet for the groups as well). This is definitely a should do for partypeople. Its giving you a nicer view as well as a more private area. (note: people with handicaps around their legs or less mobile/fit might have difficult walking down. Call the resort how they can support, because the service in general is excellent and will help you for sure to have your best day). Couples should go here. Families will have a great time. Friends will have their best day together. Dronepilots: Leave your drone at home, because you cant fly here.
