Gateway of India Seminyak – Outstanding Food, Incredible Hospitality!
Gateway of India in Seminyak is easily one of the best Indian restaurants in Bali, and after both dining at the restaurant and experiencing their catering at a family wedding, I can confidently say their quality and consistency are unmatched.
We had several meals at the restaurant and were blown away every time. The dishes are authentic, rich in flavor, and cooked to perfection — from creamy butter chicken and fragrant biryanis to perfectly crisp samosas and soft, buttery naans. Every bite is packed with traditional Indian flavor, made with love and attention to detail.
What truly sets Gateway of India apart is their exceptional service. The staff at the Seminyak location are warm, attentive, and genuinely care about their guests. The ambiance is cozy yet vibrant, and the whole experience makes you feel like you’re dining in a home away from home.
To top it off, Gateway of India also catered the wedding functions at my niece’s wedding in Uluwatu from September 3–5, and the food was truly to die for. Every guest raved about the quality, the flavors, and the presentation. It felt like a 5-star dining experience delivered right to the venue.
A huge shoutout to Sapna (the owner), who was the most gracious and professional hostess throughout the wedding events. She handled everything with a smile and ensured every detail was taken care of — from coordinating with the chefs to making sure guests were happy and well-fed. Her warmth and hospitality made all the difference.
Whether you’re dining in Seminyak or looking for high-quality Indian catering for a special event, Gateway of India delivers beyond expectations.

Read moreIt's a hit and miss. Staff are nice and friendly. Naans were nice, fresh and they had a great selection, rice was nice too. Very big menu and loads of options including vegetarian. My meal was delicious (vegetarian malai kofta) however my other half's meal wasn't. My other half ordered highly recommended prawn tika makhanwala which turned out to be prawns in a plain tomato sauce. Can't see why that is highly recommended as it didn't taste anything special (it was bland) and prawns were small and not many of them. If you like your food spicy then you have to tell them that you want "Indian spicy" otherwise you end up with "Indonesian spicy" which isn't spicy at all. I stressed that I want it very hot "Indian hot" and I got it. Where as my other half asked for just medium hot and it came sweet (no joke!). They don't accept American Express (this isn't a complain, it is just for your...
