My visit to Double Six Beach in Seminyak, Bali was a delightful experience that perfectly combined natural beauty with a lively atmosphere. Located on the west coast of Bali, reaching the beach was relatively easy, although parking options for cars were limited. It is recommended to opt for a motorbike, especially for those coming from a distance or staying far from the hotel.

Despite swimming being prohibited, the beach is still kid-friendly, offering ample space for building sandcastles and playing in the sand. Double Six Beach in Bali is a beautiful stretch of sand, no doubt about it. The golden sand is soft, the water is clear and inviting, and the sunsets are legendary. But before you pack your flip flops and head straight there, here's a realistic picture:

The good: Beautiful beach: The sand is lovely, the water is clean (most of the time), and the waves are perfect for beginner surfers or bodyboarders. Great location: Situated in Seminyak, you're right in the heart of the action, with tons of restaurants, bars, and shops within walking distance. Lively atmosphere: Especially in the afternoons and evenings, the beach comes alive with beach vendors, music, and a general buzz. Activities: From surfing lessons and sun loungers to parasailing and beach massages, there's something for everyone.

The not-so-good: Crowded: This is a popular beach, especially during peak season, so don't expect a deserted island vibe. Finding a spot to relax with your towel can be a challenge, and the water can get crowded with swimmers and surfers. Limited shade: Unless you rent a beach umbrella, finding shade can be difficult, especially during the hottest parts of the day. Vendors: While some vendors add to the lively atmosphere, others can be persistent and pushy. Be prepared to politely decline if you're not interested in buying anything. A favorite stretch of beach to walk in the morning. It has wide sandy beach, pathway for those who don't or unable to walk on sand, and plenty of rubbish bins (it's important, there are many beaches in Bali without them).

Normally clean, it can have a lot of rubbish during high wind season, such as now in December. The amount of rubbish from the sea is unthinkable, but there are good effort to clean it up. Rubbish season usually starts around December and ends in February/March depends on the weather.

There are stretch of restaurant that opens quite late for breakfast (8 and above), but they all come to life at night.

I used to enjoy the live music if I come at night, but the last time I tried, they are too noisy because each restaurant overlaps the other. If you can get one that is far enough from others, it's a nic ambience to sit and relax at those bean bags, because the music is usually good. My favorite is still in the morning though when there are less people, less noise, more dogs. If you come after the rain, you can have the whole beach for yourself.

There are parking on the street side, not too many lots but you can parallel park on other stretch of road as well. There is no problem finding parking in the morning, but at night it could be challenging, although I never had problem, always found one, but then again, I don't come at night during peak season.
