Kampoeng Seafood — Restaurant in Kuta

Our experience here was part of a sunset tour we had booked. The dining experience was a set menu already covered by the tour guide.

We arrived after a long day visiting temples and sight seeing, and were pretty hungry by then. We entered Kampoeng at around 7.30pm. Our driver had to get someone's attention to get us a seat. Once seated, we were happily attended to with drink orders. They quickly arrived, and with fresh coconut drinks too! Then the service went downhill from there.

In short we didn't get food on our table till 10pm. We weren't sure if this was normal so didn't want to bother the staff. But on that note, we never had anyone coming to check in on us either.

When the food did arrive, it was ok. One prawn, bit of fish, overdone calamari and a couple cockles. Luckily there was a lot of rice to fill me up.

I'm normally stoic with bad service and can usually attest to lack of staff or just a bad day. But the combination of bad service and average food wasn't something I could overlook so easily.

The atmosphere was lovely, and that was the saving grace to our long hungry wait time. It was lovely to sit on the sand, listen to live music, watch planes land nearby at the airport and just soak in the...

I have tried almost all the grilled restaurants in Jimbaran, but believe me the service at this restaurant is very bad, my boyfriend and I came to this restaurant bringing fish, shrimp and squid because this restaurant provides grilling services, when the waiter came to weigh our fish, he is very unfriendly but we still didn't have a problem with that, when I entered my boyfriend went to the toilet and I came to one waiter and asked for a table for two but the waiter was also very unfriendly to me. And this is the worst part, the waiter who wears glasses is the worst waiter I have ever met, very unfriendly and rude. The first thing, when he brought our sharing plate, he threw the plate on our table without saying anything until the spoon and fork became a mess. and secondly, he spoke very loudly to his own friends or staff, because we are Balinese so we really understood what they were saying and those words were very, very rude, he was kind to foreign guests but not to local guests like us. After an inspiring visit to Uluwatu Temple and the hypnotic Kecak fire dance, we wrapped up the day with an incredible seafood dinner at Kampoeng Seafood—and it was the perfect close to a magical evening.

The setting is pure paradise: tables in the sand, giant waves rolling in just steps away, and the sky putting on a show of its own as the sun dipped into the sea.

We feasted on lobster, crab, squid, prawns, clams, fish, and vegetables—every bite tasting like it had just left the ocean. And believe it or not, the entire spread came in under SGD 100. Incredible value for such freshness and quality.

As the ocean roared in the background, a live 4-piece band filled the air with music—double bass, violin, guitar, and congas adding a soulful rhythm to the sea breeze. It wasn’t just a meal, it was an experience for all the senses.
