DON'T GO HERE!!!
Unfortunately I can't give zero stars. I never write an online review but this time I feel obligated to do so because this place is a tourist trap! The place is filthy, tables are extremely dirty and the cutlery and crockery is still full of food remains. Staff and service are disgustingly unfriendly. This was our last night in Bali but after eating this I am looking forward to leaving...
We chose a menu which included fresh lobster prawns, squid, mussels and a whole fish. It included rice, vegetables and a soup. It took forever for our food to come but when it came we were shocked. The soup was not even remotely hot and resembled the water used to wash the dishes. Disgusting! The fish came with more bones than meat. Prawns were undercooked, squid tasted like your granny's flipflops, the mussels were drenched in a sauce with an extraordinary unapathising taste and structure and don't get me started on the lobster. It was tiny and disgusting. I really feel sorry that it had to die and become part of the saddest dish ever.
The only reason why this hellhol gets an average of 4.1 stars is because the good reviews are given by local guides who probably get paid to deliver unknowing tourists to this disgusting place. Don't go here, but if you do make sure you have your life insurance in order and prepare to get...
Read moreLast night, we ate dinner at the Sea Side Cafe. The service is appalling because we had to keep motioning for the waiter to come and serve us at our table. He was sitting with a group of approximately 7 other waiters who were just laughing and texting on their phones. The food packages were very expensive and the portions were tiny. We chose Set Menu A which was $85 AUD and was very concerning because for that price we expected larger portions and better table service. The beach at Jimbaran Bay is filthy because as we looked out onto the beach, all we could see was plastic rubbish all along the sand. To make matters worse, we had a group of stray dogs who were walking around the tables, and then decided to sleep next to our table. The tax was 21% which is totally unreasonable for what we are receiving. One of our friends was extremely sick that night. She was vomiting for 2 hours straight. We assumed that it was due to the crab she had eaten, because no one else ate crab at the Cafe. This means that the seafood is not fresh! My family and I will never eat as Sea Side Cafe again, or even visit...
Read moreThis is a TOURIST TRAP set up, they are purely after your wallet, they charge EXORBITANT price like a 5 star hotel restaurant price, without the ambient of a 5 star hotel. They are just an ordinary restaurant with a plus gactor of being at the beach.
They are not honest in their dealings, at most seafood restaurants, when you choose your fish/squids/prawns/etc and get them weight, they will tell you the price for the food you choose. Then you know what you will be charged.
Now you will get a shocked when you want to settle your bill at the cashier. On top of that, there is a 21% tax.
We ordered our diner - 500g prawn, 600g squid, 1.1kg of oyster & 1 crab, 1 glass of lemon tea & 2 glasses of warm water - the total bill was Indonesian Rupiah 1.408 million , ie about USD55
The plus point, a good view of the sea, food are okay, though not the best, service are good.
There will NOT be a 2nd time for me here, NOR will I recommend to others. Unless of course you have lots of money to...
