We saw the positive reviews and were optimistic to try their food.
We ordered bhel puri , thali , and paneer butter masala.
The paneer butter masala that we ordered was tasteless. It was loaded in butter and masala and something was drastically wrong or completely off in the combination of masalas because of which the final dish was devoid of taste. It was like eating a blob of butter with masalas and no salt.
The thali was strictly average. There was a measly cutlet like appetizer overfilled with potatoes and the palak paneer was just puréed spinach with some cream - not the authentic taste. The black chickpeas was average and daal was just ok.
The chapatis were hard even after a copious amount of butter and they were not soft and supple. The bhel puri was not bad but the rest of the dishes left a bad aftertaste.
I politely went and told the lady that the food was not good. This was just feedback - I was not expecting her to reduce the bill or give me any discount. This was genuine feedback but these people cannot even take constructive feedback. Their arrogant attitude is evident from their curt reply of their manager ‘ if food is not good, don’t pay’. First, I did not ask for any reduction in amount. Neither did I refuse to pay for that mockery of Indian food that I was served. I simply gave them constructive feedback and asked them for the check multiple times.
Unfortunately , they do not know what the meaning of constructive feedback is. They just have loads of attitude and did not want money despite asking for the check multiple times.
These people have arrogant ego just because of some positive reviews - in reality their food sucks big time and is not healthy.
In every negative review that they have on google , they talk about fake reviews from partners which just makes me laugh and this behavior is a red flag in itself because in retrospect , they are the ones posting fake reviews through a marketing company they seem to have hired.
Avoid this mockery of an Indian restaurant at all costs - don’t get fooled like we got by the fake positive reviews - save your honor and appetite!! Just read the negative reviews on google before going there. The arrogant lady and her Balinese staff call every negative review as fake. They should first learn to process and appreciate constructive customer feedback before running a business. And save this arrogant attitude for someone else - learn to respect customer and appreciate customer feedback first . You people are a disgrace to the food industry feeding unhealthy food to customers that is spurious and devoid of any taste.
And you are not doing any favor by not accepting money from a customer for serving bad food to them. If you truly do not want the money , you should apology to the customer with a smile on your face and tell them politely and genuinely that it is ok if they do not pay - instead of shameless , arrogant and...

Read moreNamaskar Thali isn’t just another Indian restaurant for many reasons.
1: It is born out of passion to serve homestyle food. They serve what they eat themselves. It is owned by an Indian husband and her Indian food loving Indonesian wife. Both of them are chefs who’re crazy about making great food and evolving their own palettes.
2: It breaks away from the typical Indian restaurant style cooking format where the nutrition gets compromised for visual relief and taste. They make good looking healthy Indian food. You will never feel unwell.
3: They’re crazy about sourcing the best ingredients which is difficult in Indonesia especially in Bali when it comes to Indian ingredients. Yet, since the don’t like the paneer available in the market, the make it from scratch. Such is the obsession to give the best.
4: You will feel at home here. Not just the chef couple is warm, accommodating and always smiling, the rest of the staff is also very sweet. Indonesian hospitality is anyways world class and you will feel that sitting here.
5: I’ve lived in Bali for long and tried almost all the Indian food options available. Some are decent to be honest. But when I’m missing home and want a meal that satisfies like no other food, I come here. During busy or bad weeks, I’ll come twice a week.
They’ve survived the pandemic which was tough. But now, I think it’s time they were rewarded for the talent they have. If you’re in Bali and you want Indian food, you must visit them. It is an experience and not...
