First off: To the person replying to reviews on Queen’s of India:
It’s EXTREMELY unprofessional to reply to everyone with the format Mr/ Mrs (name). It’s also really misogynistic. Are you assuming every female reviewer is married? Don’t you know some women are single and shouldn’t be referred to as Mrs? And don’t you know that even MANY married women choose to be referred to as Ms (marriage-neutral title) instead of Mrs?
You should be AWARE that literally NO married woman would be addressed as Mrs (husband’s full name).
NEWS FLASH to bring you to the 21st century: Women ARE NOT men’s property! Many married women keep their original name & surname, and a few may choose to change their surname.
We aren’t in the 1800s anymore, so you should:
Go with Mr/ Ms instead. OR Address the reviewer by their name only.
It’s just a small tip but it’ll boost the professionalism of your business. As a restaurant in a tourist hotspot area, this should be basic information to you, even a toddler would understand.
Cut out the blatant misogyny please! So disgusting and disrespectful! I won’t be surprised if a bunch of rabid chauvinistic misogynists are running this business.
Now moving on to my review:
Have visited this place a few times since someone recommended me to.
Positives: Naan is good and tastes fresh, I’d recommend the garlic or butter naan. Flavours for the chicken are various and generally tasty. There’s a pretty wide selection of dishes and drinks from the menu. Butter chicken is the best gravy dish you can get!
Negatives: Despite numerous complaints about undercooked chicken, nothing changed even after many visits to this place!
The tandoori chicken was very pink and even tints of undercooked red inside. This is quite strange and glaring since I’ve never experienced this with tandoori chicken from other restaurants. The biryani is not good at all, won’t recommend it. Stick to the naans and butter chicken for the best experience. Soup is salty, request for lesser salt. Service is VERY VERY slow, so warning folks: Be prepared to wait. The wait staff are not friendly and can be quite apathetic...
Read moreThe one thing I have to point out is their mental block when it comes to drinking water. The first time we went there, we made our order and the waitress asked if we needed water, she went onto say that they have only mineral water and so we asked her to get a bottle. When she comes around bringing a fancy bottle of water which would be around 300ml, we thought we’d ask the cost and to our shock she said 36000 Rupiah. Obviously we declined the water and my friend went and picked up a 1L bottle which we had in our room. Funnily enough, the cost of that one litre bottle was just 7000 rupiah. Since we stayed in the neighbourhood, we went there a couple of times and each time we carried our own bottle but the staff refused to give us glasses to drink the water in since it wasn’t their overly priced water we were drinking and they would give us awkward stares if we placed our bottle on the table. All I have to say is if you charge 50K for a plate of chaat and 36K for 300mil of mineral water, there is something seriously twisted about that. If your restaurant is Indian themed I suggest you follow the Indian culture where we don’t refuse water to even strangers who come knocking at our door. We don’t ask you to provide us free water but please don’t try to loot customers in the name of it. Coming to the food, it was quite decent. They add food colouring to their curries that leaves a stain on the fingers which I didn’t like. Taste wise it’s ok and cost is a bit on the pricey side but I guess Indian food is considered...
Read moreWe had dinner at Queens of India, Kuta Bali for three consecutive nights, and it was an absolutely delightful experience each time! The place has such a lively and happening vibe, perfectly located on one of the most buzzing streets in Bali.
A special mention to Julia, who served us all three nights with the warmest smile and welcoming nature. She truly made us feel at home. The entire staff is polite and attentive, which adds to the overall charm of the restaurant.
The live singer deserves a big shout-out too — simply fantastic and mind-blowing! The music created the perfect atmosphere, making every dinner memorable.
We tried several of their vegetarian dishes, and honestly, all of them were a solid 5/5. The flavors, presentation, and authenticity were spot on. The outdoor seating also gives a lovely vibe for a relaxed evening.
To top it all off, we were lucky enough to meet the amazing Australian singer Chris Murphy and his wife there on two evenings. Such great souls, and my kid absolutely adored them. That made the experience even more special.
Overall, Queens of India is not just a restaurant but an experience — whether you’re here for lunch, dinner, or just to hang out. Highly recommended!
Big shout-out again to Julia for making our dinners...
