1st the place is inside a small lane, and my sister and I had visited the restaurant at night so, honestly it felt a bit scary. But, the food was totally worth it. We were in Bali for 4 days and dying for some good vegetarian food, as I am purely vegetarian.
Most veg food we found was tasteless and the Indian was not good enough.
But Tasty Vegan was AMAZING. This place offered us vegetarians a chance to try Balinese food in a vegan way.
We had Cado Cado and Nasi Lada Hitam. The Cado was spicy and sour. Nasi Lada Hitam is made in a peanut gravy with veggies and tofu with rice papads
This place is a must try for those who are vegetarian but want to eat proper Balinese cuisine.
The ambience is lovely, the staff is super helpful as I had no idea they close at 9pm... And we reached at 8.45.. The staff did not rush us or get irritated.. It was only as we were leaving we asked them when they close...and the poor waitress informed us of the timing. We left at 9.30ish... So you can understand how nice the staff was...
The price is super affordable too..
So in...

As was mentioned in other reviews it's kinda hard to locate the place, but if you're going northward then there's a small sign directing you left into an alley leading to the place. So better to slowdown and keep an eye out when you get close to the place.
More expensive than local food but still very much reasonable, for filling portions. You can eat well for 40-100k here. The food is also great. I had the mie goreng the first day, very nice. The 2nd day I had the gado gado with rice on the side. Unfortunately it didn't really suit my palate but still pretty good. I also got the fried banana for dessert and it was super good. Was initially planning to get other desserts but they were out so settled on this but was very pleasantly surprised.
The staff are also very friendly and cordial, and the ambience is really peaceful, surrounded my plants and a constantly running water fountain giving really nice...
Read moreI’m not sure how the reviews are high. I went for lunch today and I was so disappointed. The potato-filled starter was fine. I ordered Nasi Campur and I only ate one Tempe piece, the veggies, a bit of rice and the two mice meat pastries. I didn’t try the rest of the plate ingredients because I started to get a stomach ache. I think it’s because the majority of the food is fried and I usually avoid fried food. I even had to use tissue to blot the minced meat pastries cuz of the grease. Also, one waitress looked very pale and this is not a reflection of good health. I think my first impression upon seeing the waitress was spot on and I should have left. Anyway, I felt like writing an honest review. Also, a guy who ordered pizza at a nearby table left most of the plate. When he was asked if he wants it for takeout, he said that he feels full and that he ate too much. I’m drinking coconut water right now to help my tummy recover after the meal. Glad I didn’t...
