Usually I'm not the one to leave reviews since I tend to be too lazy to do so. However, this time I just feel a very strong urge to share my thoughts. As a Vietnamese who adores Thai cuisine and culture, having lived in Thailand for a while and visited the country countless times, I've tried Thai food in almost every country I've traveled to. And I must say this restaurant is one of the best Thai restaurants I've been to. The quality of the food is exceptionally good, ingredients are fresh, portion can be on the small size to some Western but for us Asian, that's perfect (so you won't feel over-fed later). At first I was a bit hesitate with the low score reviews, but I still decided to try anyway since I already walked far enough to find a decent place for dinner. And how glad I am that I gave it a try. Such a pleasant surprise to have such a tasty meal (we ordered 4 dishes, all are top notch!) Intrigued by the many bad reviews for such a fantastic place (good food, friendly and polite staff, music might be a bit too much for my partner's taste but for me I quite enjoyed the music), I took time to sift through many reviews trying to understand. It appears that certain individuals, for personal and spiteful reasons, have resorted to using multiple accounts to put many bad reviews on numerous small businesses in the area. I'm feeling appalled with such hateful attitude/discrimination. Therefore, I feel compelled to set the record straight (at least in my small way). Because firstly, this is such a good restaurant and amazing chef. Secondly, this is the right thing to do. Keep up the good...
Read moreThe person who came up with the name “Bangkok hustle” might have a good sense of humor. Yesterday night the restaurant was 30% full and we were one of the first who made an order. 4 people ordered 3 curry plates and a salad. It took forever to make the food. The worst part of it is that each plate arrived with 20-40 min intervals in between and one of my friends got her plate in more than an hour after ordering when we finished our plates. It was just a veggie curry and it doesn’t take an hour to make it, guys. The food was fresh and good, but portions were way too small. I give 2 stars for the service because service is the most important part of a restaurant experience. Next time if you make a group of starving people wait for so long, inform them about that and give them some free snacks to show that you care about customers. And for god sake, rename the restaurant, please. “Sleepy Bangkok” would work...
Read moreFood poisoning, avoid this place.
Ordered their red, green, and massaman curries in both veg and chicken.
I has the chicken, my gf had the veg. We both got sick from food. Stuck in the toilet for hours sick.
Unsure about what food made us sick, the next we ate the leftovers of this place the next day... we both got the same sickness.
Never again. This place is not clean or they have issues with their cooking.
Plus my gf is Thai and said all three curries were basically the same.. and not at all authentic. But of course, the diarrhea is the worst part of it.
In response to the owners response:
The illness we felt occurred 8-10 hours after we ingested your food.. TWICE.
I've lived in Thailand for 8 years, I'm very well acquainted with food related illnesses. I don't make claims against restaurants without having a great deal...
