This stall opens for business at 7pm but thankfully we arrived earlier at 6:30pm, got a table and seats and placed an order in advanced.
At 7:02pm all seats were taken and crowds had to wait.
Food was freshly made and hot.
We had a mixed rice plate which had a piece of thin skin (hard), a piece crispy crackling skin, strips of dried pork meat, a piece of pork fat, vege, a stick of pork satay, crispy pieces of something, sambal and rice kuah bulong (ie pork knuckle spiced soup) - not spicy hot but peppery, very flavourful soup complimentary bowl of soup - tasted similar to the pork knuckle soup coconut drink
I don’t know the pricing because a local who shared our table treated us to dinner after knowing this was our first visit to Bali and first time eating babi guling after 3 failed attempts of finding places that served this dish in Kuta (Goggle info not up to date - ie stalls shut permanently or leftovers from...
Read moreWithin walking distant in from legian street. They sell one of the best nasi bigul bali I've tried so far. At 6.30 PM they just finish set up the tent, but people are already lining up waiting. The takeaway and dine in has different line of wait, so don't wait together for dine in. If you do take away, the portion of rice is a lot, like nasi padang. Price IDR 40k, The bigul is juicy, tender, taste savory not bland, not overly salty. The crispy skin is not that crispy, still has this soggy texture but it is fine. The satay is kinda spicy, but in a good way. Meat is juicy and tender. The lawar is also kinda spicy, but still bearable for not spicy lover like me. They recommend the pork leg soup as well. The crispy skin sold in different pack (IDR 50k) not so recommended, because it's very oily, crispy, but itch your throat. Would love to came back to try their...
Read moreStaff are friendly and food is served quickly. However very busy and hot outdoor seating. Food was a bit spicy but enjoyed the food 👍
We ordered ☑️Balung Kuah – tender pork knuckle in refreshing broth. Not alot of meat on the bone but a decent amount still. ☑️Babi Guling – this was below expectations. Bowl of shredded pork and pork skin was not crispy at all. ☑️Sate babi – loved the spicy sauce on the outside of the meat but the meat itself was a little dry. ☑️Vegetables – not sure what it is exactly but we got some coconut and green leaf stirfry(?) and was good.
I regret not getting the Nasi Campur instead as it comes with a little bit of everything. Portion is good for price. If you cannot handle spice then...
