Hong Kong Restaurant — Restaurant in Makassar

Premium non-halal chinese food restaurant in town. Very delicious menus and felt authentic! Different flavors and vibes compared to the traditional, homey ones. It's a place that suitable for family dine in (the portion and also the atmosphere itself). Each portion was large (for 3-4 persons we think); we (2 persons) finally took the rest of those home. Price a little bit more expensive compared to others, but we understand because from the look and the experiences that we had, we could definitely say this is a premium chinese restaurant. We ordered babi matah (Rp 125,000), nasi goreng hongkong (Rp 60,000), and tahu hotplate (Rp 110,000).

Service was fast, but felt a little belittled (from their expressions) when we chose not to order a drink and when we park our vehicle (yes, we rode a motorbike, it's our mode of transportation choice). The parking man was not responsive, just sat in the chair in front of the building when he saw we park our vehicle in the restaurant garage, and then he blamed us when we met a problem to remove our vehicle after our visitation (yes sir, why you didn't tell us first where to park our vehicle? Are you blind?!). The car parking space itself is very limited, you should park your car on the side of the street. For the waitress that belittled us? Yes, she finally smiled at us the moment we made a payment (yeah, we ordered some menus that cost not so cheap).

Not getting 5 stars because of...

The black pepper beef was unbelievable, it didn't taste like black pepper and the meat were severely over cooked. Ordered Ee Fu noodle but regular egg noodle was served. HongKong fried rice is actually regular Makassar style red fried rice, besides adding Chinese sausages, there ain't anything HongKong about it. Salted egg french beans - didn't taste any salted eggs. Fried fish fillet - barely edible because it smells a little bad, probably not fresh at all! Price is way too expensive for such quality. There are way better...

The food tastes good, but service slightly affected the dining experience.

Ordered something like sharkfin soup, but the staff will not automatically serve pepper, soy sauce & vinegar when served over the soup. Briefing staff is needed so other customers will have a better dining experience when visiting. Keep up the food taste, will visit again when I go...
