Atmosphere and service are nice. Food is disapointing, not that I was expecting authentic mexican in indonesia, but was underwelming and easily our worst choice after eating many places here on the island. Cocktails presented well, but poorest quality spirits and lack of flavour made those a poor choice as well. Lastly, we stayed on this island for 10 days, ate lunch and dinner out everyday, and Casa Bombu is the only place that added a mandatory 10% tip o the bill, I alway pay cash and always tip good service. Lastly they offer a discount for a positive review, which in my view causes me to suspect the review may not be entirely honest. Not a total waste, but would not go again. UPDATE further to the owners response, there is a laminated place card on every table offering a discount for reviews. I am in no way trying to hurt this business, again its a wonderful place, service was excellent, and I am sure they try hard with their food. Reviews are supposed to be an honest review to help guide other people to help make informative decisions. Fajitas are designed for the customer to make several small tacos on their own, you provided a stir fry and a single tortilla that provides a make your own large burrito at a cost substantially higher than a Burrito. i wish this restaurant only the best, and it remains the only restaurant on this island that charged me a 10%, tax, tourist tax, or tip, still the only place that charged it. I would have much prefered leaving the 53,000 IRD TAX as a gratuity that actually helps the...
Read moreFirst beer took 40 minutes to arrive. Burrito finally came out 2 hours and 11 minutes after ordering..... but I needed to add salt as there was little or no seasoning/sauce added to the mix. It was the blandest burrito I had ever eaten. It's a burrito at a Mexican restaurant? How can you stuff that up?
I've attached a photo of the 130K IDR + tax (!!??) nachos to give some perspective on the portions and value. A bowl of corn chips, a small teaspoon of guacamole and sour cream, maybe a quarter teaspoon of salsa? I truly felt it was a tourist money grab.
3 meals were incorrectly sent to our table, and over the 2 hours, we saw 4 separate tables around us have food delivered, then sent back as it was incorrect.
We overheard a customer at the bar warning the attendant that their group is simply going to walk out without paying as they were so annoyed.
We counted four other tables of 2 and one table of 3 who also waited for ~2 hours to get their first dish. We counted 6 people in the kitchen which I'd have thought was AMPLE to bang out some nachos, burritos and corn chips.
Not sure what went on tonight, but it was an epic disaster. We got a free drink and 20% discount but it wasn't nearly enough to make up for the poor experience and wait time. There was also no apology or even acknowledgement our table waited over 2 hours for very basic food.
There's 'Bali time', then there's 'Bambù' time....

Read moreThis review means no disrespect and everyone should still try the food! This is just some feedback :) The food took over an hour to be delivered, which I understand completely (it was rainy and might’ve been busy) I just wish that we were informed accurate details as to how far away it was as we were told at one point that they were going to check but we never heard back, when we originally ordered they said it would be 15 mins roughly. The burrito shouldn’t be sitting in a pile of refried beans as it makes it soggy :( the plastic packaging sauce and other things should probably be improved and changed the recyclable packaging as it’s a bit wasteful and bad for the environment in such a beautiful place to be using so much excess waste! Go a bit easier on the refried beans as it takes over all the other flavours of the food!! The nachos were good apart from the excess beans. Burrito is a bit hard, not soft like most burritos but that might just be their personal recipe. Wouldn’t order the burrito if you’re expecting a classic soft burrito, but for some people they might like the different taste of Casa Bambu’s ones, but personally I didn’t enjoy it that much (I tried it twice). Only tried the nachos, burrito and burrito bowl so the other items on the menu might be delicious but those few things could use a few adjustments :) best of luck to your business and I hope you take my review kindly and...
