JResto Lembongan — Restaurant in Nusa Penida Subdistrict

Updated edit: We came to this restaurant because of all the positive reviews on Google (there are many) and looked past the one star review from a week ago. I understand we asked for a margarita with spicy jalapeño flavor to it, but didn't know it was picked jalapeño. After looking back at the drink menu we see that another drink has "jalapeno pickled juice" in it (the Mango Jalapeno Margarita). This is the first time I've seen pickled jalapeño juice in a drink and the pickled juice overpowered the drink (in my opinion). I am fully willing to admit we may have had a poor experience that day and that it doesn't reflect the true ability of JResto. Again, the views were stunning and something I did not mention in the original review but I want to make sure it was communicated here is that the service provided was great and the whole wait staff was kind and attentive. I was a bit salty with the original review at the time of posting and therefore changed my review a bit.

Original review: First I want to say I don't like to give bad reviews...but...this was the most disappointing experience we had on Nusa Lembongan. I will say that the atmosphere and views were GORGEOUS on top of the hill, but that's about where the good things stop. We were excited to try the food here based on previous reviews, but after a closer inspection, the good reviews were older, so maybe they got a new chef?

The drinks were weird...we ordered a spicy margarita which had picked jalapeño juice in it...the vinegar flavor overpowered the drink. We also got a Sex in the Hill which actually tasted quite similar to what I imagined a fruit vape pen oil would taste like. Not good for drinking....

We got the ahi tuna tar tar for an appetizer which was mushy and a bit too fishy. The green curry was not curry at all and was actually pesto. The only decent thing we got (and actually ate more than a couple bites of) was a chicken wrap. Another bad sign was that the other table sat next to us only took a couple bites of food then just left.

I'm hoping that the restaurant actually looks at and considers these newer reviews because there is a lot of potential at...

We stayed at Jenggala Hill so JResto was where we had lunch and dinner most of the time. I think we have tried almost everything on the menu. The food was honestly average, but from what we could see of the island’s offerings, they were better and more competitively priced than most. The service was friendly and good, the restaurant had great views of the sea, the drinks were good, we drank lots of juices, iced lemon teas, milkshakes. You can also order food to be served at the pool. I would say the nasi goreng chicken was a safe bet, the ginger herb rice they served with the grilled chicken or chicken satay was tasty. I liked the crunchy fried vegetables that accompanied many of the dishes, oh, their homemade fries were very good actually. The curries tended to be a bit too watery for my taste, the pork ribs were not the tender kind, I wasn’t too excited about the seafood as they had a thing for this mahi mahi fish. Strawberry ice cream I felt did not go well with the kueh dadar, and they need to be more generous with the santan for the bubur hitam. A very good place to dine in...

Heard about this place from a lady at our hotel which was lucky because we loved it. Organised complimentary pickup/drop off and reservation via whattsapp number on their website.Very prompt responses. Walked in the front door and were "wowed" by the view...but then they took us up another level and we were even more wowed! Absolutely stunning view of Jungutbatu, fabulous to watch as the sun sets and all the action below. Staff were so friendly...they sold white wine which was great for me (not really a huge beer drinker) though it's the Two Island brand which is a bit rough but I enjoy with a handful of ice lol Good range of food though to be honest I forget what we had-writing this several weeks later-but the one dish I do remember was chicken n mushroom sauce but the chicken was a little dry.I would highly recommend going here for the awesome view,friendly staff & all round enjoyable evening. We sat outside so I dont think there was any music but perhaps...
