Excellent restaurant at a great hotel on Nusa Penida. Prices are very reasonable considering this is one of the nicest places on the island and so guests ostensibly have more money to spend, and we enjoyed the 50k IDR cocktails each night we stayed here (technically only available during happy hour, but happy hour runs from 5pm-9pm so they're effectively available at this price all night).
Food is very good and well presented, both Indonesian and Western options, and the breakfast that is included with your stay at the hotel is top-notch and the best breakfast we've had in Bali. The atmosphere is absolutely stunning with breathtaking views of the ocean and surrounding hills, it's the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Read moreThe food here wasn't very good. As a westerner, I thought it would be a good idea to order a steak. Turns out, it wasn't. The menu item said "tenderloin," but it was anything but tender. Extremely tough, lacked flavor, and covered with this brown sauce that actually seems to detract from the steak. I also ordered bruschetta and it was not great either. The bread was sweet and the vegetables on top seemed old, and once again, lacked flavor. Luckily the fries were fine and the smoothie I had earlier was very good.
The view and atmosphere here is awesome. They just need to get someone in there to get the cooks up-to-date with improving the menu or the preparation of the items currently...
