My recent visit to this restaurant left me with mixed feelings. While there were aspects that fell short of expectations, there were also highlights that deserve recognition.
Starting with the disappointments, the fish and chips I ordered failed to impress. The fish was overcooked and lacked flavor, making it one of the most underwhelming renditions I've encountered. It was a letdown considering the reputation of this classic dish. However, I'm hopeful that the kitchen will take this feedback constructively and work towards improving the execution of their fish and chips.
On a more positive note, the coffee and croissants I had were a delightful surprise. The coffee was well-prepared, boasting a rich flavor that complemented the flaky croissants perfectly. This particular combination managed to redeem my dining experience to some extent.
The restaurant's decor was another aspect that caught my attention. The ambiance was tastefully designed, creating a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. It added a touch of elegance to the overall dining experience, which I appreciated.
What truly stood out during my visit was the manager. Their friendly and attentive approach made a significant impact. They took the time to inquire about our satisfaction with the food and genuinely cared about our recommendations. It was evident that they were invested in delivering a positive experience to their patrons. I commend their dedication and customer-oriented mindset.
While this visit had its flaws, I am optimistic that the restaurant will learn from the feedback provided and strive for improvement. The friendly manager and the potential for better execution give me confidence that future experiences may be more satisfying.
In conclusion, my experience at this restaurant was a mix of disappointments and pleasant surprises. The lackluster fish and chips were overshadowed by the enjoyable coffee and croissants. The attractive decor and the attentive manager added value to the overall visit. I encourage the restaurant to work on refining their dishes and consistency to provide a more satisfying dining experience...
Read moreThis was the go to spot for coffee and breakfast(avocado toast with poached eggs was a repeat for us) as we stayed next door as well and how they were both excellent. Awesome chicken sandwich, which was huge! (I generally eat an entire large pizza to myself). Most portions of food in Indonesia are quite small, but this is not the case here. They make great caramel macchiatos and latte. Real caramel as well that wasn’t just dumped in the bottom of the cup, it was spun up nicely on the sides. Very well done cups of coffee with great flavor. Occasionally i would get a 3rd shot of espresso bc i really like coffee flavor, but not needed as the way it comes is great. The staff was by far the most friendly and best at service I have had in a long time. Great everything at this spot. I won’t say good pizza because I didn’t have it(i had about 3 terrible pizzas elsewhere,so i was a little cautious to try), but everything else on the menu is great. Very fluffy and flaky crust on the croissant, they use the same on the cinnamon rolls as well, which I have never had and it was quite great! But to get one of the cinnamon rolls you will have to wait until about 11am. I asked for icing on it. I tried multiple other foods as well nasi goreng and a BBQ rice bowl. The nasi was awesome and so was the rice bowl. I would have liked some spicy heat in the BBQ bowl though, but it definitely still had...
Read moreIf your a solo diner or traveler be aware..... I have spent time in this area over a few years. And have just returned from Pendia after a 2 week stay very near Joglo. Dining in there most evenings. Until i was refused a vacant table because i can only summarize is i was a solo diner. Table i was told had been booked and was told to eat at the chicken shop next door..... I returned to my homestay to decide where to go for dinner and walked past Joglo 20mins later the vacant table was still VANCANT... Hence my review... In the last 2 or so years since it opened I've probably eaten in Joglo 30/40 times as a solo traveler. Supporting it with my hard earned cash. The staff in joglo know me as they are linked with my homestay so i see them outside of their restaurant. So i will never use this establishment again. As they clearly have no idea of customer relationships. In this time bad behavior treating a supportive loyal customers Has consequences ie bad reviews across multiple sites. Interesting thing is the staff had to avoid me at my homestay from then on and when our paths did cross their shame...
