My first visit was more pleasant than my second. I was somewhat irritated when the server brought drinks to the table.. managed to spill the drink all over my phone.. which is waterproof, but didn't even bother to bring me a proper napkin to clean up the table OR my phone. Things went further downhill when the drinks that we ordered were below average, actually they were bad. My cosmopolitan was made with sour mix.. and anyone that knows a Cosmo, it's pretty much pure alcohol. This one was mostly sour mix. My fellow diner was just as disappointed with his whiskey sour. Once again, the sour mix made up 70% of the drink.
The food, was really the only redeeming quality. Although there are much better choices on the strip for food. Check out Sunny cafe, where the drinks are worthy of mentioning and the food is worth writing home about.
Or if your willing to spend a few extra bucks, check out
Overall, Kelapa rated at the bottom of my dining experiences while on the island. I hope your experience is different.. otherwise you might want to stick to bottled beer.
Oh yeah, their happy hour ends at 7pm.. an hour earlier then every other restaurant on the strip.
Sorry, I wish I could have shared a glowing review, but it just wasn't happening here.
Many thanks- hope you enjoy your time...
Read moreThe food here is amazing, no complaints!
Kelapa is 1 minute from my room for 7 months now.
The first few months i lived here, it was my favorite restaurant. but for the past few months, i have been disappointed :(
It seems they never have enough staff to serve customers. For example, they cannot serve me right now because they only have 2 people working until 3pm so they asked (at 12pm) if i can wait to order 3 hours later
And the delivery hours are only for a few random hours each day
Also the menu can be confusing, they offer “french toast” on the menu, but i asked and they said it is just normal toast served with butter and jam. not “french” toast 😅 i am surprised they did not fix that when it was brought to their attention. As well as having pictures on instagram of the “chicken schnitzel” but it is actually the chicken parmigiana without sauce. which is fine, but i have been confused at times when communicating about these and other items
i am writing this review hoping they might consider hiring enough staff during the busy lunch and dinner hours so they can stop pushing me away SO often
it feels like a miracle when they say they can...
Read moreI have no idea how this place has so many 5 star reviews. The place it self has a lot of potential but need to be beter run.. The menu is very confusing as they have on it “French Toast” but it’s just plain toast with jam. The croque Madame was a bit dry and I’ll say not the right ham on it, but I got admit, I had the best Nasi Goreng in this restaurant so far, and for a fair price! And the pancakes were also very good. The place it self is nice but open to the road which creates a bit dust, everything is very dusty, tables, chairs, even the menu looked like it hasn’t seen a cleaning rag in years, I mean don’t even look at the fan on the ceiling cause that’s extremely dirty.
And they were blasting Justin Bieber playlist super loud since we arrived until we left.. I think they think that westerners only listen to Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift…
Like I said it has a lot of potential but right now it does not deserve the 4,8 overall that I...
