Sushi island — Restaurant in Nusa Penida Subdistrict

After a long day scootering around the island we searched for a soothing ramen, didn't expect to find anything as a professional ramen but we found this place and very surprisingly delicious. Staff very nice, food very fast delivered, prices are decent for a sushi place, taxes already included. We ordered edamame, gyoza with prawn and another with chicken, both have been amazing, above expectations. After that we had a chicken miso ramen slightly sweet and strong miso taste, didn't feel a strong broth taste as the miso was dominating, noodles for my taste a bit soft, rest of the topings has been totally fine. Overall a fulfilling ramen. Beside that we ordered sushi pizza something new for us, the sushi part (crust of the pizza) was great, good tuna, as for the rest of the pizza slice was also delicious but hard to eat. It was an experience, would recommend this place to any Japanese cuisine lovers. Have also other Japanese dishes. Very nice dinner, a bit loud music, many cute pets...

The food was brilliant, the place is on the side of the road so expect a bit of noise from passing traffic, but the place is clean and neat with all the Japanese decorations. The food is the best sushi in the island. Super fresh fish and the chefs know what they are doing! With sushi is always better to keep it simple, in my humble opinion, especially outside of Japan so the fish needs to be fresh and properly presented with tasty sides. I went twice and both times they didn't have anything salmon! Now I need to say I rather have whatever fish they can get fresh everyday that for them to have salmon but not meeting the quality standards, that was the case with the TUNA... OMG get the tuna, the tataki it's to die for, prawn salad was really fresh and nice with the warm weather but the tuna It's the absolute star of the show here in Indonesia 🇮🇩 delicious, prices above indonesian local food obviously but not as expensive as some way simpler dishes in some of the posh places...

The staff was very sweet and nice but the sushi was quite possibly the worst I've every had and took and extremely long time to arrive.

First of all, it took a little bit to find a roll without cream cheese or an odd ingredient like lettuce. The cut of the fish was uneven and too thin with the taste and temperature of the fish being a little off. When I asked the chef about it he said that he just warmed the top of the fish a little bit, not enough to cook it but to just warm the fish I guess 🤨. To top it all off some of the rolls just fell apart as they weren't filled properly or fully.

The plating looks nice I guess, but the sauces are completely unnecessary for the sushi and just a waste of food in my opinion. Decorating the plate with the sauces also adds a lot more time to prep, which just isn't worth the long wait.
