TAWE beach bar & grill — Restaurant in Nusa Penida Subdistrict

This place is outstanding! While visiting Bali, we ate at several restaurants on the main island and Lembongan- and Tawe was by far the best. I was initially excited to try Mama Mia's nextdoor (which was decent), but can get pretty busy at night. We were skeptic at first on whether to avoid the crowd at Mama Mia's because Tawe was empty... But it was the best decision we made on our vacation. Do not be afraid to go there if no one is there and it's busy nextdoor. We ended up eating there 3 times and each time were blown away by the food and drinks. No matter what you're hungry for, they have something you'll love and will exceed your expectations.

Skip breakfast at your huts/villa and come here for the best coffee (brewed, not instant), fresh juice, bloody mary's, sausage, bacon, eggs, fruit, and VIEW. The lunch and dinner options were equally excellent, I just wish we had more time to sample their menu. Great food, drinks, view, friendliest staff you'll meet in Bali, inexpensive and easy to find/access.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! When we came to Bali for our vacation, this was by far the best restaurant we went to. The food was great and the view is amazing. The staff seemed very happy and wanted us to have a good experience. Every place we went on the island had servers who really didn't speak English, which is to be expected in Bali in general, let alone a tiny island. However, at Tawe Warung they had one staff member who spoke great English and the other servers who didn't speak the language quite as well as him were very obviously trying to learn by kind of following and listening to him. This place has a nice view but all of the food ordered did not taste good at all. I ordered the chicken curry and it didn’t taste anything like chicken curry, the vegetables in it were barely cooked and there was almost no actual chicken. My husband ordered the French onion soup and it was basically boiled water with onions thrown in, not very tasty at all. We were obviously displeased with our meals but were charged for everything even though it was barely touched. We told the waitress that it wasn’t good but the bill still had all items.
