Kitchen Steak — Restaurant in Nusa Penida Subdistrict

Good location, friendly staff but the food was a let down. I ordered the “vegetarian lasagna”. It came out looking brown on top (i think it was mashed potato). It was nothing close to a traditional lasagna should be. It didn’t taste great but i pushed on in good context that I was trying something new and their best shot at a classic dish with a local spin.

I was soooo wrong. I almost immediately felt unwell. I got food poisoning that night.

While my friends meals seemed okay, I was not happy with my outcome. If you add something to the menu, you should make sure it is safe to eat. If you can’t sell enough of it for it to be safe, take it off the menu. Playing with peoples health...

They have plenty of parking and a big open area, we came in low season and it was not too busy but it looks like they are used to have loads because they had about 5 or 6 people in theyr staff! Staff super friendly by the way, they try to make us feel comfortable by puting on music from our own country, when we said we prefered indonesian 🇮🇩 tunes, they changed it straight away! 😁 The place was really clean, no dust, no bugs, just perfect! The view overlooking the jungle. The food was DELICIOUS and the fruit juice so nice we had 2 today and we are going for another 2 tomorrow! Prices HIGHLY competitive with island standards! Very central location if you are hosted away...

Super friendly staff, large choice of mediocre food at almost local prices.

They serve Indonesian dishes, salad, pizza, and other western food.

We had a fish and chips that was almost good (a bit oily and not so tasty, but we've definitely seen worse) and a caesar salad that wasn't. We accompanied this with two fruit juices that were good, and concluded with a fruits and chocolate pizza ("nutella pizza") which was absolutely terrible: should you order a "Nutella pizza" make sure to ask it without cheese!

Total price was 210k, which is a bit expensive compared to the local standard.

We truly appreciated the friendliness of the people, but sadly could not recommend...
