Dabu-Dabu Manado — Restaurant in Pondok Aren

The place is located at the end of Taman Jajan Bintaro. They served Manadonese food, so of course I need to order their Grilled Tuna Jaw package. The place was a bit dirty, the table and cutleries were sticky. And the smoke from the grill sometimes trapped since they are just under a tent. But it's okay and bearable. The waiting time was quite long as they needed to grill it first.

When the Grilled Tuna Jaw arrived, I was surprised as it was really big. If you're not a big eater, this would be a 2 portion for normal people. The grilled tuna meat itself was okay but not as tasty as the one i ate in Kelapa Gading. Their sambal was good though, the spiciness was kicking, so definitely enjoy it with the sambal if you loved spicy food. For this portion I paid IDR 69K, I think it's quite decent. So the food is definitely okay, but cleanliness and cutlery need...

The rahang tuna is not that good. It is definitely better than some other rahang tuna place in Jakarta, but it pales in comparison to the real one in Manado. The tuna is not of the best quality. The sambal/spices is quite good. This is probably the best rahang tuna in Jakarta though it is still far from the real ones in North Sulawesi.

The price is too expensive considering the quality of the food. Parking is paid and it’s quite easy to find a spot...

Resto yang tidak pernah absen saya datangi setiap kali ke Taman Jajan Bintaro.

Menu yang selalu saya pesan: bakwan jagung, mujair bakar rica, tumis bunga pepaya. Pernah juga pesan rahang tuna kuah asang.

Bakwannya selalu disajikan fresh, gurih, tidak pernah keasinan dan selalu krenyes karena baru digoreng setelah dipesan. Tumis bunga pepaya juga pedasnya pas. Rahang tuna kuah asang disajikan dengan banyak bumbu lengkap serta kuah yang cukup banyak, dan buat saya bisa dijadikan alternatif obat herbal kalau sedang tidak enak badan 😉.

Juaranya buat saya adalah Mujair Bakar Rica yang disajikan dengan bumbu minimal tetapi gurihnya sampai meresap ke dalam daging. Rasa asam dari jeruk (lemon cui?) sangat terasa di lidah. Bumbu sangat tidak berlebihan sehingga penampilan ikannya terlihat sederhana tetapi justru jadi terasa segar.
