Brazilian Aussie BBQ @ Seminyak — Restaurant in Pulau Bali

They changed their format and policies, so I changed my review. 50% increase on all their prices for food, pretty much across the board. Not only that, they refused to provide what was clearly shown on their menu for today's special. I hate being lied to. Also, in addition to price increases, they took away part of what was included in some cases.

Saturday afternoon BBQ used to be great because it was AYCE hot dogs, hamburgers, and (low end) steaks. It also included their salad bar items. However, they increased the price by 50% and now if you want a single steak, it's an extra 50k. They claimed it included a free cocktail/mocktail/beer, but then they said that the free drink was only 12 - 2. Even after pointing to the menu / placemat that clearly stated that from 12 - 5 (we were there about 2:45) it was this price and included a drink, the server still refused. So pay 50% extra (but it includes a drink! ... NOT!) and take away the steak part of it. Increase the price? Fine, it happens. Start giving a little less for the same price? Fine, it happens. Jack the price AND take stuff away from what it includes? Now it's highway robbery.

We debated just paying the full price (again, increased by about 50%) and getting the normal assortment of meats (since the old price only includes chicken and sausages now, no beef or lamb, and really, I didn't even ask about lamb, it might not even be served any more) but even the manager (not the usual manager who was pretty cool, some new girl) wasn't willing to bend on their new policies, even to match what was clearly stated on the menu.

Oh, and did I mention that their out front employees (all of them, at least 2 that I saw, with some others wearing shirts with their logos who may or may not have been working) weren't wearing masks at the entry area? In one case, the guy sweeping didn't even have a mask. Not that he had one but had it around his neck, he simply didn't have one AT ALL. If they are taking temperatures like they are supposed to, why do they let their employees parade around risking infecting others? Global pandemic and this restaurant simply doesn't care enough to protect their customers. I'm never going back.

Also, in times past, I had given them a great review based on our first visit but never changed it. It sort of had already started declining into hit or miss after that. One of the times we were there, the server never came back to ask if we wanted more to drink. The table next to us she was Johnny-on-the-spot with getting them fresh drinks, but she ignored us completely. Even when I tried flagging her down at one point, she sort of looked away and I never had more than the first cocktail and lucky for us the water bottles lasted until the end of the meal. On that visit, I told the manager that his server cost him money. I was prepared to drink heavily that day, and she ignored us so only one drink each was purchased,...

Went here invited to have birthday lunch for my cousins last Sunday.

There are only 2 families have lunch at 2pm.

Really really spacious space, and nice parking arrangements.

There is a separate place for meat lovers to buy meat and take home.. Yeahhh!!

Great covid protocol, so, we feel safer inside.

Great decoration, and there are separate spaces for live cooking, grilling, and drinks.

Waitress are really helpful, fast response and nice.

Now, let's move to the main course, which is the taste and food quality.

The sauted veggie options are great, plenty of options here, including asparagus!! Thanks for providing this!. You can ask for different sauce options.

Sichuan sauce was too salty and less spicy. Garlic butter taste the best, but still a bit too salty. Cantonese sauce is good, typical Chinese food saute. I wish there is added flavor like using coriander to bring the taste to the next level.

I wanted to try blackpepper, but stomach were full. :)

The coleslaw are really nice. Cold, and juicy. It was my 1st choice when I take the food.

I tried BBQ sauce.. kids loved it 😍 Mustard and mayonnaise is provided as well as gravy sauce.

🍖 now.. the meat quality. In general, it's really great to enjoy beef, lambs, chicken and pork and sausages.. Loved pork ham, pork belly and beef rugs? ( sory for mistypo). The texture is really nice on your mouth, easy to bite, and I can still remember the taste as I writing this review. 😋 🤤 I think they best serve this 2 types of meat here. Chicken is just normal and good. Lamb, for me, I wish it's more tender and juicy. And I wish we have more 🌿 herbs. To me, lambs are quite personal, as there is only few places serve really good grilled lambs. Sausages were really delicious.

Last but not least.. I didn't expect to have grilled, sweet, juicy pineapple. I was told that they use brown sugar to coat the pineapple.. but I don't think it's necessary.. :) This pineapple 🍍 really soothe me as dessert. Nice surprise.

I hope I have another chance coming here while we are in Bali, and take more close photos of the grilled meats, and when they grill the meat..
