The best in Seminyak, Bali! Delicious Indonesian food in a relaxed, chill and calm atmosphere overlooking a landscape of rice paddies - I highly recommend Warung Nads. The al fresco dining is fantastic! It is unique and refreshing. From time to time, you can feel a gentle breeze that just nicely surrounds the place.
There are lots of restaurants in the area of Seminyak but they’re the usual dining places with AC and sometimes the music is too loud. But at Nads, it’s out of the ordinary and it's refreshingly a great dining experience!
Right when you enter the restaurant, the owner, Ibu Ayun greets you with her warm, sunny smile and guides you to the table of your choice. Her welcoming and engaging presence is like her welcoming you to her home for a tasty, delicious Indonesian meal. Ask her anything under the sun and you’ll learn a lot from her. She is ready with a listening ear and her kindness shines through. A well-accomplished journalist and communications expert prior to opening her restaurant post-pandemic, she is one very smart lady of the house!
The menu selection at Nads is varied with lots of the popular Indonesian dishes you already love or are ready to taste for the first time. All the ingredients are fresh and the food from appetizer to the mains and desserts are excellent. Their fried banana dessert is de-lish and is a bestseller!
A look around the restaurant and you know everyone is having a great time while eating - their smiles and laughter says it all. From filmmakers, to students, tourists and diplomats, they all love the food here. Customer service is also excellent. The servers speak English and its easy to communicate with them.
It's kid-friendly, and there's a kid's menu. Parking is available in the premises which is convenient.
My family and I had a wonderful time enjoying the tasty food at Nads and Ibu Ayun’s company.
I highly recommend Warung Nads - it’s simply wonderful all around! Go...
Read moreI hate to do this but only leaving a bad review justifies our bad dinning experience there. The food was amazing but the waiting time was just unacceptable. We came as a group of 7 persons at around 8:15, placed orders at around 8:30 and it took 40 minutes for the first dish to arrive. The restaurant was almost full at the at time but most customers had some food on their tables already so the peak hour had apparently passed. We waited so long that when we got the first dish we had already witnessed the whole dinning process of the table next to us. I doubted if the satay chicken freshly made because it was cold when served. Sharing plates such as fried vegetables came first but we had no utensils to eat. When we asked for utensils, it also took forever to come. We also witnessed the waiter fumbled to wrap the spoon and fork with tissues, making me wondered why they didn’t have them prepared before dinner time. My mother was so hungry that she couldn’t help but ate on a piece of tissue. They also forgot to give us straw for a drink. I could tell the kitchen was busy taking order, but it wasn’t an excuse for the 40-min waiting time. They could have rejected us if staff were insufficient. The dinning area is half indoor, and the great ambience was a bit ruined when a customer smoked. To be fair, the food (excluding the cold satay chicken) was impeccable. The juice was fresh. The fried vegetables were delicious. The fish was amazing. I intended to leave a 1-star, but raised it to two since the restaurant was sincere when we complained. I would still recommend it for food only if you have enough time...
Read moreWarung Nads is a real hidden gem in Umalas. Tucked away from the busy streets, it offers a cozy and comfortable atmosphere that makes you feel welcome right away. The setting is simple and relaxed, which is exactly what makes it such a nice place to eat. There is no need for anything fancy here, because the focus is on good food and a friendly environment.
The staff are very kind and attentive. They provide service that feels natural and genuine, making sure you are taken care of without being over the top. Their warmth adds a lot to the experience and gives the place a homey feel that is hard to find elsewhere.
The food is excellent. Every dish is cooked with care, using fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. It is solid Indonesian food that is full of taste and very satisfying. Nothing feels rushed or commercial. Instead, it feels consistent and reliable, which is exactly what makes you want to come back.
