Ayam Goreng / Rebus Kalasan Simpang Lima — Restaurant in Semarang

Had lunch here with family when visiting Semarang city. As someone not from Semarang, I didnt have any idea that this place was already famous.

I ordered fried chicken, cah kangkung, and iced orange. I really like the chicken and sambal (sambal was already available on the table) because it reminded me of good ol time chicken. Taste wasnt strong but when combined with the sambal, super delish. Cah kangkung was a nice surprise. Really really good and different compared to kaki lima cah kangkung. I tasted something in it which I dont find it in other cah kangkung. Iced orange was okay.

Service was fast. Lady workers were very polite. Too bad I didnt taste the boiled chicken. They also have baby chair (nice). No separate area for smoking which is quite bad for non smokers like me. No aircon but I didnt mind. Price was okay. I think I didnt see halal sign but I didnt see any pork on the menu...

The food was good, not necessarily great but it's enough to fill your empty stomach. In regards to the atmosphere, it's full of that old warung-in-a-building type stuff and gets you in the mood to eat pretty quickly. The service was really friendly, and funny too. They were super helpful and were never rude....

Always feel healthy with their 'rebus' meal menu. The products served brings out the original taste of the food which is good. Also, the location that has 5 minutes walking distance from Simpang Lima as the main centre of the city, win the...
