Burgerhuis at Rinjani — Restaurant in Semarang

Food: -The Signature (💲60k): very saucy, and messy to eat bcs they used soft brioche bun, which tasted kinda sweet, too. Can't really notice each ingredients here, but each of their flavors blend in well. Their smoked pineapple I thought would be kinda sour to counter the meatiness of the burger, instead it's very sweet and caramelly since they said they used 'Nanas madu', which became the highlight of this place i thought.

-Son of Patty (💲50k): again, very saucy and messy to eat. Also can't really point out each of their ingredients. This is my first time trying smashed patty, so i thought it would be crispy on the edges, but It tasted similar to their regular patty, just a bit thinner, still juicy tho 👍🏻. Kinda letdown by their pickle, as a pickle fan, i think they need to be braver with the acidity of their pickle haha. Overall still a good burger tho.

-Lost in Texas(💲60k): feels drier than the other two. Thought the burger was gonna be meaty and fatty bcs of the brisket, instead the patty and brisket tasted kinda lack of seasoning, so i just tasted the pure taste of meat, with peppery taste from the blackpepper sauce. However, their brisket is indeed very soft, and can be teared by hands 👍🏻.

Overall, it's a messy, saucy, feel good and enjoyable burger, with my favorite and unique taste so far is The Signature. I'd hope they would be braver to up each of the flavor of their ingredients, but with the current condition these are already good burgers.

Service: Really good and personal. I asked their The Signature, since I came from Jakarta, but it's already sold out bcs the preparation needs 3-4 days (damnn). But after a while, they said they have 1 stock left, which i really appreciated and feels personal to me.

Atmosphere: love their interiors and speakers! However, not a really good place to hang out and chat, since it's kinda cramped if the place is crowded, and you can hear other diners...

As the name suggests, Burgerhuis focuses on a variety of burgers with different meat fillings including beef, chicken, and dory. During my visit, I tried the "Winner Chicken Dinner" and the "Signature" beef burger.

Despite the prices being slightly above the average for typical burgers, the quality and taste justify the expense.

The burgers are a delight, starting with the soft brioche buns that perfectly complement the fillings. The beef patty, which I suspect is freshly made in-house, was juicy and tender, bursting with flavor.

The "Winner Chicken Dinner" burger was equally impressive, featuring a tasty and slightly crunchy chicken.

A unique highlight was the bubblegum drink – a soda with a bubblegum flavor, reminiscent of the old-fashioned Pepsi Blue.

It was a nostalgic treat that brought back memories of childhood and added a playful touch to the meal.

Overall, Burgerhuis offers not just a meal, but an experience that evokes the charm of old-fashioned American-style burgers, akin to those seen in 90s TV shows for myself.

It’s a perfect spot for delicious, hearty snacks that will leave your taste buds and tummy satisfied. Highly recommended for both locals and visitors in Semarang!

Positives: Bun toasted properly, fresh pickled cucumbers, sweet and tangy caramelized onion, crispy smashed patty as it all should be. I ordered a Son of Patty, mind you. Free ice cream. Who would say no to free ice cream? Dunno if it's a promotion programme tho. You should ask before I guess.

Negatives (or rather, critiques?): The price listed is before 10 (or 11?) percent tax. Starting price is a bit steep with a big portion (45-50k IDR before tax). Would like to have a smaller version with a lower price. For me I would like to have a minified and cheaper Son of Patty with a single patty instead of the double default.
