Monti Dining — Restaurant in Semarang

A great dining place with great taste of food. The creme brulee is delicious with the right amount of sweetness and a tint taste of burnt caramel on top with the signature crack sound when you hit the top. Although the portion is a bit small, it was great overall. This is my second time visit, previously I ordered Grilled Jimbaran Prawn and Saikoro Teppanyaki, both were satisfying to the pallate.

Monti Dining is placed on the upper side of a hill, so it comes with a view especially at night. In the same building they have 2 dining places. On the lower level is Arte Cafe, more on the coffee and rice bowl side with gelato shop available too. The food & the atmosphere was okay, but I feel there are some menu as a price trapped with no price written inte menu list..

I order "sirloin dry age steak" from the menu list, but the waiters said not ready.. Then He offer "ribe eye" with same kind/type dry age steak that not in the menu list.. I said okay because I think the price will not much different..

Surprisingly when I pay the bill, the price was so expensive (200% than sirloin with the same type of dry age steak)..😠

My questions: Why the waiters didn't warn/tell me about the price? Why the price was not written in the menu list? Is it intentional/on purpose to trap customer to pay much more money?!?!

Best Dining Experience in Semarang. Came here about two weeks ago. We ordered two drinks (forgot about the names), one appetizer platter of mushroom dishes, one saikoro set, and one nasi goreng lidah. Everything, and I mean e v e r y t h i n g was perfect. The building was well designed, the parking was spacious, the staffs were polite and well trained, the food were amazing, and the price was very very affordable, if not slightly too cheap for the quality. If this location was in Jakarta, all things equal, the price would’ve been marked up +- 30% more. They also have a gelato store with plenty of choice. Loving the pistachio gelato!
