D'Kambodja Heritage Restaurant in Semarang is a family-owned restaurant owned by renowned kebaya designer Anne Avantie, which first opened on 3 April 2021. Featuring the ândeso heritageâ concept, the venue offers a warm and nostalgic atmosphere with vintage decor, classic ornaments, and spacious indoor and outdoor areas. It relocated from the city centre to Jl. Diponegoro No. 45, Gajahmungkur, at the end of 2022. Visitors can choose from various seating areas, including VIP sections, and enjoy dining experiences from morning to night while admiring Anne Avantie's works, which are also displayed in the boutique within the restaurant.
The âSego Gudeg Koyor Istimewahâ dish, features dry gudeg paired with side dishes such as cassava leaves, fried sambal krecek, eggs, shredded chicken, and of course koyorâbeef tendonâwhich is intentionally served as the main highlight. In terms of taste, the koyor is seasoned with spices that have a sweet and savoury flavour, and its texture is tender when bitten into, making it a favourite among many visitors. The combination of Central Javanese-style gudeg and koyor creates a complex eating experience: the sweetness is dominant, the savouriness is deep, and the spices have a warm, comforting qualityâmaking it a comfort food that indulges the palate.
In my opinion, the strength of the koyor gudeg here lies in the perfect balance of sweet and savoury flavours, as well as the quality of the koyor, which is tender without being too âchewy,â making it enjoyable for all tastes. However, for those who prefer less sweet dishes, the gudeg here may feel a bit heavy. If you prefer standard gudeg with an authentic taste that isn't overly sweet, adding sambal might make the flavour more dynamic. Visually, the buffet presentation on banana leaves adds a traditional touch that enriches the dining experience.
DâKambodja Heritage successfully packages Indonesian culinary experiences in an appealing heritage-themed settingâthe place is Instagram-worthy and filled with personal touches from Anne Avantie. The âcomfort foodâ menu, traditional buffet, and complete package options make it ideal for families or groups. Overall, DâKambodja Heritage is a unique blend of art, culture, and cuisine that represents âSemarang heritageâ in the form of a modern and...

Arrived in Semarang at lunch time, because still had to wait 3 hours to the check-in time, I was thinking to get some lunch. No information that I need to take the rice with their packages : nasi ayam lalap or nasi ramesan. So, I directly took 1 portion of chicken satay (2 stucks) and a slice of omelete ala Padang. When I asked to the staff : "How much the price?", they only answered : "Price at the cashier" After satay and omelete, I was thnking to get some rice to complete the menu, but the staff said : "rice MUST BE paket" --nasi ayam lalap or nasi ramesan, can't be just rice. Okay, then I took nasi ayam lalap. I asked : "Is it includes sambal?", the answer is "No", --sambal itself cost 19rb. And I took tea orange for the beverages, then continue to the cashier to pay. The total is : abrakadabra 151rb. A slice of omelete : 19rb Chicken satay (1 portion = 2 stucks) : 35rb Paket nasi ayam : 49.5rb Tea orange : 27.5rb Tax 10% and service 5% Goddamn J*sus! Then I added 1 portion of rice because the rice portion just standard. It cost 15rb after tax. With 151rb + 15rb I can get 1 portion "fine dinning" somewhere.
Okay, "if it is expensive it means not your class", but it is not about that. It is terrible expensive, feels like "Lesehan Malioboro Price", but in Semarang đż
Service just standard. There was a male staff with no smile and seems don't want to be bothered with questions.
Warm the foods that you chosse with microwave in front of you feels like "7 Eleven...
