If you are just want to hang out, selfies then this place should be all right. The building itself is new one but decorated like an old colonial era. There are some real antique furniture as well as some fake ones, like the grandfather's clock.
They have outdoor which is located at the porch with the street view or inside with no aircon and smoking friendly. For those cant stand the heat of Semarang city (and its buzzing mosquitoes) I suggest to grab your seat inside the aircon room.
The price is quite cheap and I think is common for Semarang, however their food was below expectation or may I say, far from standard. For example is their laksa which is a peranakan cuisine, turned out to be a mild and watery soto with no strong kicking taste. Another disappointing menu is their ayam mentega rice which is more like ayam kecap.
Hope they can research and improve the food. As the drink I have no comments as what we had was...
Read moreI am such a freak for the malaysian/singaporean typical breakfast. I have a lots of love for kopitiam, half boiled eggs, and kopitarik. So, every town I go, I will try to find a place that suites my taste.
When I went to Semarang and started searching on Google, I find this place. The rating is not that high, under 4,5 tho.. But I made up my mind and went to this place for breakfast on my last days of my trip. Here is my review:
Kaya + peanut butter toast is the CHAMPION!!!! Really love it!! Crispy, Savory, and such a right portion!!
Kopi tarik tastes like usual kopi tarik
But one flaw, they don't serve soft boiled eggs there. I got mine as a half fried egg, served on a plate.
Ps. It was only me and 2 other people when I was there, but I still didn't feel the cold temperature, so yeah maybe the AC is not working...
Read moreWent here during our holidays since we're looking for a good kick of coffee, and were not disappointed!
Coffee were really good, well made and has that distinctive flavour of kopi tiam. If you're looking for a watery and overly sweet modern coffee, this is not for you.
They have many variety of food, snacks and beverages (coffee, tea, other casual drinks) that will suit your preferred palate.
Service was good but could be improved. Place is quite big and can catter up to 75 to 80 persons They have separated air conned and non-air conned seating area Interior is decorated with vintage photos, giving a subtle nod to its old town vibe During my visit, They play a series of good 90's and 80's songs
The only down side is, Parking area is a bit limited, only fitted...
