ROOMS Inc. Semarang — Hotel in Semarang

I stayed in rooms inc twice for a business trip, it's a new concept of an upscale hotel in the heart of Semarang city. For the hotel itself they have applied app-based check-in (cardless check-in) which I am sure they are the first hotel in Semarang who has it!

Overall the hotel interior and design were just perfect for a millennial and dynamic individual traveler. You will also see many art things when you come to this hotel. Their lobby lounge area called Grab&GO offered variants of F&B product with a take-away concept even tho this outlet was not open yet on my last visit but the barista offered me with a cup of piccolo latte and had a small talk about the outlet itself, their coffee taste good!

I believe in the future this place will be perfect as well for a co-worker space who needs a unique yet inspiring working environment with full-speed wifi connection, oh for that one especially I really love their wifi connection btw since I should keep connecting to my other things in Jakarta at the same time!

Another good value they have is the Verve Bistro & Coffee bar, located right next to the playroom (yes this hotel has a playroom guys, you can choose whether to play a billiard or table soccer) back to verve, it's the only one all day dining in this hotel. They offered Indonesian, Japanese and Western menu, I tried their buffet breakfast, and had dinner as well (ordered for their squid roll char-kway and rawon surabaya) all taste good!! Same as other restaurant or hotel, they also need to improve their speed in service for the rest nothing but the fun that you will experience while you dine in this hotel restaurant.

Best spot in this hotel are their alfresco area of Verve Bistro & Coffee bar and another one the balcony which facing to the iconic Lawang Sewu, best time: afternoon to evening time.

So, I can't wait for my next visit to this city and hotel again, Semarang and this hotel both always...

The room was superb in terms of cleanliness and design. Love the hot shower with strong water pressure and the heat is just nice. Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is connected to DP Mall where u can find almost everything in it. We stayed fr 28Dec to 1 Jan 2023. Towels were old and in bad shape. But on the 31st make up room they changed them to acceptable quality of towels. Was wondering if they use the par stock since it's NYE peak season and that time Semarang was in flood so laundry service delayed. Breakfast was bad if u compared with the room price and other 3 star hotels. Seems like they don't have head chef or they just lack of innovation and creativity for the food. We had 4x bfast and 1x dinner for NYE. Food for NYE dinner not in good taste. The peking Duck smelly. We expected the crispy skin, thin pancakes and vegetables to eat with .but they only have the meat and smelly. Fried rice was ok. Bakso was good. On 1st Jan 2023 we had bfast at 6.30am and they were nt ready yet. Though they said bfast start at 6 am daily. All chafing dish filled with food but the sterno nt yet lit at 6.30. So yes we ate cold food. Some of the food were leftover fr NYE dinner ;The beef and the chicken or they just looked the same fr the NYE dinner food. The pannacota was too sweet and hardened. They use oversized cup to serve it which is a waste if people just left it after 1 tea spoon trial.this was our first time at rooms inc. Though they are part of artotel group but the FnB are a disappointment. We stayed before at artotel jogja, artotel suites mangkuluhur, artotel thamrin and all this time the FnB was superb until rooms inc. Hopefully they can improve their food quality and taste. We booked 2 rooms there for one night and requested for the rooms that are facing Lawang Sewu. First impressions: edgy, modern, young and minimalist. The property is located above one of the latest shopping malls in Semarang, with the direct access via lift or escalator. Spacious parking area. Just follow the signs that will take you to the very top floor of the building where the hotel's drop off area is located. The hotel is very conveniently located right in the heart of the city, right next to Lawang Sewu. The room rate is highly affordable even though the rooms are a little too narrow (no space between the bed and wall), but the facilities are unabeatable at this price. It has a great gym (my father who has been training since young age said that their equipment is the best that he's seen in hotels), great dining area, recreational games, water dispensers outside of the rooms, and complimentary coffee / tea for all guests. The rooms are super clean, beautifully designed, great toileteries and spotless bathrooms (I'm very picky about this one). One thing that brothers me though, the water provided in the room. The hotel might want reduce plastic use, but during this time I think it's safer to use bottled water instead. We've already planned our next trip to Semarang and guess what? We'll be staying with you guys again next...
