I went to LeDoyen with my family after coming back from my overseas study. I ordered the Foie Gras for the appetizer and it was beautifully done as I can taste the gameness from it and it was very packed with flavors from savory to acidity (it left an impression on me). Then, I had the chicken with caviar for the main course, it was very juicy for a chicken breast which was very impressive and I could taste the real flavor/taste of the chicken itself, works really well with the caviar and the green sauce. One thing that I noted was that the chicken still needed a bit of a searing to make it more crisp on the outside. Finally, to end the whole experience, I had the Roejak for dessert. I was impressed that they made their own Rujak sauce with very simple ingredients. Nevertheless, the Roejak could implement more flavors in it e.g. integrating more flavors from fruits that are typically used in a Rujak (just an opinion of mine). Read moreArguably the best French cuisine I ever had outside France. We had Foie Gras for entree and it was heavenly. It's so soft and the taste is so flavourful but not overwhelming. For main, we had sea bass and potato millefeuille. My goodness... the sea bass was basically melting in my mouth. Sea bass can be quite dry and flaky but this was not the case last night. The flavour was light and not at all fishy. We also had Magret de canard. Again, the duck breast was moist and tender. It's not oily and didn't smell gamey at all. The Panna cotta and macaron for dessert were cherry on top. It was an excellent gastronomic experience. The service was top notch and the place has a very cool and relaxing ambient. It really helps with increasing the appetite. The waiters were very friendly and attentive. They explained all the foods we were about to eat. What else can I say about this place? However, out of all dishes, the only memorable one was the perfectly cooked steak.
All parts are nicely seasoned, even with considerably thick meat, it is seared nicely at the outside and tender and flavorful in the inside.
I would say there are still room for improvements for other dishes, as most are served with very mild seasoning and some are quite bland. It feels like the sauce did not really complement the main ingredients in my humble opinion.
