Bon Ami Restaurant — Restaurant in Surabaya

Invited for an early dinner in Surabaya. Thought for a food for sharing turns out evrything was very delicious that I ate so full.

Ordered their beef tounge when it comes, the smell is so good that immediately wanna dig in. Melt in your mouth in the first bite, dipped with a vinegar with sliced chilli, seasoned perfectly. love it to the last bite.

The next champion is the tahu telor (fried egg tofu) they put sweet soy sauce on top of them with bean sprout, fresh savory and sweet and the same time. Their crispy crackers on top is also amazing.

Amazed with the serving of their lontong medan. rolled rice steam in a leaf, served with curry chicken and vegetables sauteed in coconut milk. Taste amazing. we also ordered satay (chicken skewers) served with peanut sauce so tender and taste fantastic. A Bon Ami platter for sharing as an appetizer but we were too full in the end.

Dessert we ordered a Poffertjes with ice cream.. Presentation always beautiful, their ice cream is very traditional you can taste the black beans from vanilla. Blends perfectly with the warm of the cake when you eat it together, taste of a different level.

Variety of juice for you to try and all of them were so fresh. I ordered a warm ginger drink to soothe out all the complex taste. Will love to come...

Bon Ami Family Restaurant is a spacious and cozy family-friendly spot that beautifully captures the charm of Indonesian dining, especially with a nostalgic touch of classic, traditional flavors.

The menu highlights Indonesian comfort food from the good old days, and everything we tried was excellent. The poffertjes were delicious and fluffy, the bitterballen were perfectly savory, and the croquettes were simply outstanding — crispy on the outside and flavorful inside.

Service was another highlight — the staff were quick, attentive, and genuinely friendly, making us feel right at home. The open kitchen concept adds a nice touch, showcasing how clean and well-maintained the restaurant is, which enhances the overall comfortable atmosphere.

While the prices are on the higher side, we found them completely worth it given the quality of the food, the warm service, and the inviting ambiance.

The best steakhouse in town! Bon Ami is most likely the oldest steakhouse in Surabaya.

Best thing is, they do not only provide steak and other Western cuisine, they also provide Indonesian cuisine! So it would be a real real nice and great restaurant to eat with your folks who can not eat without rice or sambal. My favourite dishes are their classic Chicken Steak served with brown sauce, Lontong Cap Go Meh (dang, this is paradise!), and their sambal because it is super spicy and savoury!

The waitress and waiter are polite and friendly their service is also great.

The place is clean, spacious, and comfy. Its ambience is always good and super homey.

Oh I almost forget one thing: they have a bakery too! My favourite is not the gateau but more on their snacks which are Pastel Tutup and Pastel Goreng Soun. But I do love one of their classic bread, some buns with sweet butter jam, I am not sure of the name. But I REALLY recommend this restaurant! The taste...
