I've got some pretty mixed reviews for this place..
TASTE - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 star for taste. It was okay. 😘
————————————————————
PRICE - ⭐⭐ 2 star for overpriced menu. 🤫
1 portion of Lontong Balap : Rp17.500,- 1 set (10 pcs) of Satay Kerang : Rp15.000,- 1 glass of Hot Sweet Tea : Rp5.000,- 1 glass of Hot Orange : Rp8.000,- 1 pcs of Fish Cracker : Rp1.000,-
————————————————————
SERVICE - ⭐⭐⭐ Their service was so-so. So it's a 3 stars from me. 😉
— Air Conditioning / AC Regarding their Air Conditioner / AC unwritten policy, they're not always on. It will be turned on ONLY WHILE there are over 4 customers. Below that threshold, expect some rotating ceiling fan instead. 😅
— Lukewarm Broth Their serving are not hot served, they've had already served on a plate. So whenever new customers come to dine in, they'll not have to wait for long. Thus they're given a portion with some lukewarm broth. (Which was not that appetizing for me). 😶
————————————————————
DINE IN EXPERIENCE - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The place was really neat, clean and well placed. It's really a well maintained place.
————————————————————
— A word of advice. Do always be keen and keep tab of your purchase wherever you are.
A fellow reviewer also wrote that they've paid for a menu which had inflated in price by Rp500,- .
For example, A glass of Hot Orange usually is Rp8.000,- They will charge you extra Rp500,- for unknown reason (so it will be Rp8.500,-) if you're being unaware and not keen when paying up for your food.

Being the oldest Resto in town (opened since 1950's) doesn't mean that it'll be that good in taste and reputation. Especially reputation, will have to be maintained overtime.
Hope this reviews of mine...
Read moreOne of the renowned culinary establishments in Surabaya is Lontong Balap Rajawali. which has historically attracted a loyal customer base. However, it appears that the establishment has faced some challenges recently. The air conditioning, typically a welcomed feature, was not operational during my visit, contributing to an uncomfortable atmosphere in the relatively small dining area.
Unfortunately, the quality of the food did not meet expectations. The tofu was not fresh, and the crackers lacked their usual crispness. Additionally, the mussel satay was not only smaller than anticipated but also lacked the expected texture.
Moreover, the service provided was noticeably unfriendly, which may explain the decline in customer numbers. It is worth noting that the pricing for lontong balap is relatively high compared to similar offerings. It is my hope that improvements can be made in both the food quality and customer service, allowing this establishment to reclaim its...
